Keane v Stokes......

WOULD TAKE KEANE OVER STOKES ANYDAY

 

much as i would love to say keane im not going to as stokes i can see being here for the long haul banging in goals .

Keane mean time i think if we got him it be a year loan deal then we be back to square one , So for me get stokes in and enjoy the young forward line of stokes and hooper develop and become one of the best in Spl

 

both score goals.

stokes is young and cheap now and we can sell him on later for a tidy profit

keane is old and expensive now and won't be worth a bag of haggis later

stokes won't sell as many jerseys at first than keano would but give him a couple seasons of 30+ goals scored and that will change

keano will always be a legend for us and otherwise but not what is needed for the long term vitality of the club

 

Stokes is potentially a much smarter buy.

He is more of a gamble though - it's no secret he's had attitude problems in the past. We're hoping that he puts that behind him & gets it together.

We shall see...

 

why are we even having threads comparing stokes to keane we all know keane is on a different plantet to stokes, keane has been one of the best strikers in the EPL over the last few years,

stoke will be a great signing IMO but by comparing him to stokes and putting pressure like that on him strait away isnt fair. anyway why would we sign a 30 year old for mega money when you can get a 22 year old bargain like stokes who will score the same amount of goals for less money

 

If Stokes gonna score goals and play well he might gonna be a Celtic Legend

 

this to me is not a compare the two or who is better type thread as right now it would be Keane obviously.

it is just a simple question of who would be worth more money to celtic if i understand it right in 5 or so years time and when you consider Keane is what 30-31 and Spurs still want around £7mill for him IF we were to pay that after subjecting himself to a 5 year spell here a 35-36 year old Keane would be barely worth £1mill sadly especially if our league overall does not improve.

were as Stokes now, if he were to continue is fine form of scoring goals in SPL and keep it at a regular 25-30 goal standard at the £1.2mill quoted to sign him a 27 year old Stokes should be worth around £6-7mill or even if we are lucky to still have him down on a decent length contract look at Mcgeady sale on figures

 

I still think stokes is a gamble however I do think he will come good for Celtic. But say it takes him a couple of seasons and we havn't already tried to replace him at that point then I think winning the league and taking the champions league revenue this season and maybe next with the proven quality of Robbie has to be a better asset for me.

 

Stokes is a big gamble and tbh i dont want him. Keane is a far better player but i doubt well get him

 

Well it's just about a done deal i've just noticed. I guess if you put it in perspective 1.2 Million isn't that much of a gamble. Anything over 2m then I would have rather went and spent 5m on someone proven.

 

I think people are too harsh on Stokes. A move to the EPL at 19 is a tough move for anyone. Many players bounce around for several years before they get a real shot or learn their craft well enough to score in the EPL. I think citing his scoring record there is unfair to the young man. Let's see what he's got.

 

I think stokes will do a good job he is young enough to still have that hunger for glory and yes there is an arogance about him but i think players need that on the field.Comparing him to kean is a little unfair as keano is an established class player who has learnt his trade all round the world. Im willing to get behind stokes and watch him grow as i says before i think he will score goals for us and hellp bring back the leauge to its rightful owner..
