Wanyama is playing out his skin at the minute and I'm sure that will continue but punting one of our best players because of an injury, especially when we have excellent cover, is madness.

Hypothetically we hit a sticky patch, Kayal comes back in, gives everyone a boost. You'd want to lose that?

I'd rather have half a season with Kayal than without.

I hope Lee McCulloch lands on his neck next time he's in a challenge. Horrible *.

Ive always said this, it can be a good thing and a bad thing. It's like Broony, always getting himself injured when trying so hard and diving into challenges trying to win the ball etc, kayal is even braver than Brown. Its a great thing but it can be bad when stuff like this happens.

Was going to say he isn't exactly shy is he? But that is the commitment I want from our players. Brings the same aggresion and bravery in every game for the Celtic. IF we had more players with Kayal's commitment we would be in a much better place.
Get well soon Kayal. You'll be greatly missed.

It's the loss of his drive and commitment that I worry about the most as it was that IMO which lost us the league last season.

Really gutted for him and equally * off by the fact that it was a feckin dangerous challenge from a * who should never have been playing.

But Kayal's injuries are down to bad luck rather than being 'injury prone'. Take Ledley King for instance, he's injury prone because he has bad knees, this is because he just isn't fully fit. Kayal's injuries come about through bad luck or bad challenges. This injury was because of a dirty tackle, towards the end of last season he fell awkwardly on his arm. Nothing he could do about these. Besides, he's still fit most of the season, it's not like with Rogne where he comes into the team for a few games then gets a few niggling injuries, so at least we get some consistency.

shocking news. time for Wanyama and Ledley to the centre of midfield their own. lucky Izaguirre has come back into the fold.

i could stomach a month without Kayal but 4!!!! it's especially hard to take considering McColluch shouldn't have been playing in the match.

we have strength in depth in midfield though so it isn't as bad as when Izaguirre got crocked at left back. make no mistake, a team with Kayal in it, is a better team than one that doesn't. and that is a scientific fact.

McColluch is probably chuckling away at this but 'tis just a minor speed bump considering Wanyama is stepping up to the plate. it's nice to know if one player gets injured another can step into his role unlike Rangers who will struggle to get goals with Healy and Fleck.

Knew it was a bad one the way he stood on the ball and it forced his anke straight up!!, it's a bit ominous because the memory of him getting injured at Inverness and then us losing the league is still fresh, better not be an omen, I think we should ditch plans for another striker and go after a centre back and another defensive mid, if there is somebody of Kayal/Wanyamas ilk out there we should go for it, can never have too many battlers in the team.

    Let the people sing,
Absolutely gutted for him! I know it was a 50/50 etc, but that * Lee McBollock should not have been on the pitch, perhaps if the shame didn't exploit the system that they seem to do all the time this wouldn't have happened.

Important thing is to ensure this doesn't effect momentum. Good opportunity to possibly sneak Commons back into the team for the second half of the season and help us kick on in the league. Also, if there was an area of the pitch where we have good cover i'd say it was the midfield.

Last season losing kayal was a disaster but this season it isn't. Wanyama can anchor the midfield and my preference would be to play ledley in there next to him. I do get the feeling however that we will be seeing the 4-3-3 getting used more than it otherwise would

Hope McCulloch gets studs to the throat, only injury suitable for that sewer rat.

    Get well soon Beram :54:

We will survive this situation as we are well covered in midfield, in fact we have a surplus, and this may allow Dylan McGeough a golden opportunity to break into the team.
