Nonsense. All it would show is that most Scots want to remain part of Britain. Which is perfectly acceptable just as voting for independence is perfectly acceptable.

So what? Scotland isn't Catalonia and the regions can hardly be compared at all.

The trouble with Scotland is that it's full of Huns. Newco Rangers have a better chance of winning the European Cup than Scotland has of getting independence.

If Scotland doesn't get independence it should be forever referred to as North Britain.

Agree, imagine getting rid of the Union Jack just by ticking a box and some people would rather keep it.

Yep. There's no point in it being a separate country.

That's hardly a unique issue to Scotland. The UK & ,as Christy Moore said the other day, Ireland is full of servile, spineless and unquestioning people. More so than the rest of Europe.

Said servile nonsense. The very idea that a right-wing, government of millionaires knows 'what's good for us' highlights this.

I know. Something in the Scottish psyche is disturbing. There's a widespread "can we survive without the English" mentality. It's embarrassing.

Scotland is breaking away from the uk slowly, some may not vote for it this year but that does not means its not happening.
When we last voted in the 1970's the yes vote was rather low due to that * maggie counting a none vote as a no vote.
This year the vote will be closer IMO,its only a matter of time before the uk gets broken up.
We already have much more power to run our own Government and as the years pass more and more power gets moved north in a effort from london to keep us happy and stop us leaving.
After all these years of england telling us how * we are scots are starting to wake up and ask the question..why do you want us to remain if we are so crap.
The money the uk makes out of Scotland from the oil and taxes are helping cover up the 45 billion cracks in the english budget.

P.s. katie hotkins is a typical stuck up *.

The referendum in the 70s was Labour not Maggie.

There was a growing ideological shift between more so Scotland/North of England and the home counties than anything else.

Its disgusting is what it is.

Years of brainwashing and mis-informed consumption of pro-unionist media.

Its honestly such a * poor argument, I mean what?

I share a country with people who actually believe this. :smiley-laughing002:

Is that what the SNP had a picture of not too long ago, never had a clue what it was about?

Basically there were more 'yes' votes than 'no', however the government moved the goalposts and the referendum was a failure.

I thought it was a maggie government but i may be wrong on that, but yes at the last minute the government at the time moved the goal posts so any one not voting would be counted as a no vote.

Not the one in 1979, indeed the SNP helped get her elected.

Was on should there be a separate parliament for Scotland, not independence. A majority yes vote was given, however Labour added the 'Cunningham amendment'.

Meaning over 40% of the population had to vote in the referendum. Only something like 32% voted. Nae parliament, SNP triggered a vote of no confidence in Labour government...Maggie gets in.

This thread is already off topic enough so I can bump this ridiculous post....
