Maybe KS only wanted the one year deal. There were strong links to Saudi before we came in. He might have had a good chat with Rodgers about his position, guaranteed number 1 for this season but up in the air next season, depending on Sinisalo and where he’s at in terms of development.

He might look to get that big pay day in the final year of his career.

 

He was a 3 year deal.

 

It'll probably be in his contract, doesn't really need to be announced per se.

 

Fantastic signing on paper and brings the leadership we would miss without Hart. Shows our intent as well since he wont be on small wages plus a big signing fee.

glad we have signed two keepers and he has an understudy for the following year.

 

Saw him play quit a few games for Anderlecht last season and he certainly looked strong in those games so hopefully the perfect replacement for Joe Hart this season. Certainly brings leadership and experience of a career spent at the highest level club and internationally and of course having worked with Rodgers already previously that can only help as well.

 

My initial gut reaction to this a good few pages back was largely negative.

But weirdly, I've done a complete 180 and really back the signing... I dunno, maybe the young lad signed from villa has helped me get behind it because I am just assuming Special K is coming as no.1 but knows full well this lad is in to push him for the season and potentially even look to usurp him with chances throughout the season.

Clever business done for GK department.... * slow, but clever.

Now would be nice to ramp it up a bit and get the fans wetting themselves with a flurry of signings like a new LB announced with Bernardo

Pleased this has officially been announced at last. I blame the board for this delay the *.

 

I know you always get the generic buzzwords once a player signs but I love those comments from him..

 

Glad he's finally been officially announced and love these comments, drowns out some of the negativity posted on here, temporarily at least.

Buzzing with this. Top class keeper and has his own understudy in Sinisalo. I like his comments aswell a player with his experience coming in speaking so highly of the club is great for younger players joining and coming through the ranks to see.

 

Happy with this also.

Couple of years of being a solid keeper hopefully then take up a role as a goal keeping coach with all the experience he has of the modern game.
