    Definitely take.

Maybe too slow for how we are wanting to play moving forward though. But class player.

Majstorovic was probably the worst first choice center back we've had in the last 20 years.

He's never in the same league as Hart or Mooy.

Mooy oozed class. A Rolls Royce of a midfielder. Great control, vision and decision making.

Hart's role at our club cannot be understated. We were lost at sea at the back before he came in. He may not have been an outstanding keeper but he was good enough and lead from the back, stabilising our defence. He did exactly what we needed him to do, which was not an easy gig.

I will always be grateful for Hart's time at the club.

I actually said a signing similar to Toure would have been beneficial for Europe this season I think. An experienced head beside CCV.

Hopefully Schmeichel behind them can help with that!

Scales and CCV together have been excellent and he’s fit in seamlessly there, Hart in his final swansong the last 6 months or so was magnificent but his shortcomings that he had Schmiechal is different gravy. He’s so demanding in his box, he’s slotted in not just seamlessly but brings the positives that we lacked last season.

Having a settled back line is massive, and something we didn’t have to the very end of the season last season. CCV being the mainstay CB brings more than just a settled backline, it’s slept on just how good him and Scales are together though, and Kasper brings the missing link there.

Trusty has a fight to get in there, it shouldn’t be an automatic thing.

Majstorivic on the pitch was poor and needed replaced but he was major off the pitch and a big part of the development of the likes of Wanyama.

He was out coaching him at half time of games a lot, teaching him how to use his frame and being peerless in the air. @Mr. Slippyfist and I have had this conversation before, noticed how much one on one time they had. And there’s been stories about his leadership and experience helping others. He was pivotal, while not being the best of players,

Gary Caldwell and Stephen McManus were limited but they both held their own in the Champions League, facing the best teams in the world at the time, getting to the knock out stages.

And since when was Efe Ambrose our first pick center back?

I'll repeat Majstorovic is the worst first choice center back we've had in the last twenty years.

Ambrose was our first choice partnership for years. I’m raise this conversation to Josh Thompson though. Who was genuinely first choice, not as a pair, as the first choice CB.

Aye, first choice partnership but never the number one center back at the club e.g. VVD, Majstorovic, CCV, Kelvin Wilson etc.

Keeping on topic: Schmeichel is a good keeper

Yip, used to watch Mjallby and Majstorovic mentoring Wanyama and doing wee drills specifically with him, in my corner at pre-match warmup.

As an aside, I think Majstorovic gets a raw deal over his time here. Was solid when he initially arrived (brought in because we had too many * at CB at the time), ok his lack of speed outdone him at times but he was becoming a really influential stable of the backline until he had that horror facial injury.

Thompson played 17 games over three years.

He was never number one centre back at the club. During his time here it was McManus and then Majstorovic.

On topic: Schmeichel still very good keeper
