Think Hart is good mates with Schmicheal - can imagine how he must fancy it after hearing the stories from big Joe.

Positives - Denmark no1 still seems to be performing at a top level, worked with Rodgers before

Negatives - 37 so a stop gap will be in the same position in a year or two. Worryingly cheap option from the board

Does he have a history of injuries?

Said earlier that I thought Jensen was our preferred choice and I’m glad we have acted sooner rather than later for schmieichal , very experienced , still his countries no1 keeper of the back of a decent euros , experience of Scotland and I think he will be a voice in the dressing room which we where losing with hart , very much for this

people saying at 37 he will be declining have to remember hart probably had his best season for us in his last season

Not saying this is the sole metric, but thinking about performing as well as possible next year alone—both domestically and in Europe—probably tough for us to do better than him. In many ways, I’d love an exciting prospect. But there’s a reason this guy was starting for the Danes.

Aye we need two GK's this summer as Siegrist is 100% gone. and Aye I think Schmeichel is far better than Jensen.

Will be later in window I suspect.

Hart was also on the scrap heap when we signed him. Schmeichel has still been playing at the top of the game.

Agreed, but your post seemed to be stating he's done as if it's a fact. He's objectively not 'done' if he's just captained his country at the Euro's.

Not buzzing neither am I angry about it, just thinks its a very boring predictable signing, would have just preferred Hart to stay on rather than replace him with someone the same age.

Personally think Joe was vital to our season being a success. He made a few errors but show me a goalkeeper who doesn't; the highest rated and most expensive make can make howlers.

Main reason I'd be fine with this is he's still first choice GK for a good international squad with loads of experience, and he'd be an upgrade on Bain.

I'll take a step out of this now. I appreciate everyone has opinions so will see what happens. I think he'd be good signing in the circumstances, and hopefully the club can get the finger out and look long-term.

I can see the sense in it but optically it looks so lazy and inept from the board/recruitment team, and to think hart gave the club month's of notice to get a permanent replacement in.

    Nothing to worry about

His rheumatologist will be on the ball with his arthritis injections.

Still a top keeper and absolutely no doubt over his metal ability to cope at a club this size.

Instantly becomes best keeper in the league too

If we can't get a top class keeper in this window then I'm more than happy with this, he might be over the hill a bit but if we cant get a long term replacement then he's the best option for a year or two

One year deal with an option for one more year, good business Celtic. Now let’s spend some serious money on the outfield players.

If you caveat it with "goalkeeper we've heard of who, when in his prime, was a top level keeper way out of our reach", then maybe there is some merit to that.
