Should give him a run out at home against Sarajevo, the last 20 minutes or so just to let him make his European debut.

No way. We play our best team until 90 minutes and focus on making the next round. I'm all for giving him game time in the league, though.

It doesn't work like that. If we turn up and be professional (which we will), we will go through. If we start taking our eye off the ball (which we won't), we are entirely capable of * it up.

Not only that, you can't switch focus, effort and desire on and off like a light switch. We win this in a professional manner and go into next game with the same focus and desire.

Sorry, mate. I can't agree with you. Nothing but the best available team the full 90 minutes in these qualifiers for me.

Don't need to take our eye off the ball if Johnston and Mbombo are out theres a space for him on the bench, can be brought on the last 20 or 30 to see if he can make an impact.

    The tie is over anyway.

I think you are missing my point, mate. Look at it this way, if you are giving up cigarettes or drink or are on a diet and things are going well, you wouldn't just have a quick half/smoke/mars bar on the grounds that it won't do any harm. Technically, one wouldn't; but you can't just switch that kind of willpower on and off like that. Even if you only have one today, your mindset won't be the same after and you make it much more likely you will fail.

It's kind of like that: there's a small chance we could screw it up if we take our eye off the ball (and not playing our strongest team till the end would come under that for me); but there's a bigger chance we won't get our mental approach back to being spot on for the next round.

We have it at the moment. Let's not * about with it.

You’re just being utterly ridiculous there.

If we’re 3-0 up with 20 minutes left, bringing on Dembele isn’t risking taking our eye off the ball. We just beat them 3- 1 in dreadful conditions away from home.

We can afford to start Dembele and Henderson at CP and we’ll still win.

& if we started them & lost, you would be one of the first ones wanting yourself banned & Lenny sacked.

    I agree with RR.

That’s the worst analogy I’ve ever seen.

Giving Dembele minutes when the tie is over, say if we are 2-0 up is a huge positive and would be a luxury to be able to do. It’s something we should be looking at.

He’s already shown us he’s not a daft we boy. He’s a proper footballer, deserves as much of a chance as anyone in that team.
