Looked a real threat when he came on. Very confident with the ball. Another option for us, only a good thing.

 

Thought he showed when he came on why we should be getting him more involved in the first team. With Forrest’s decline and Abada and Maeda not being naturals at taking players on Jota is our only winger who is a threat when dribbling. Dembele’s dribbling, awareness with his passing and he carries a goal threat too with his shooting as he showed with the B team during the week.

I think if he keeps getting chances and showing what he can do like tonight he will sign a new deal here. Unlike Doak, Dembele is ready for first team football. Dembele has real vision and ability on the ball for someone who has only just turned 19.

he does things you cant really coach - he seems to have bulked up more and with 2/3 years natural body strength to kick in and develop a strong core strength he will only get better.

last season some of his decision making wasnt the best but at 16/17 what do you expect, as a coach there is no better reward than shaping a player and improving his game, that is what ange can offer along with playing in europe and being adored by 60,000 people etc...

a 3 year contract seems wise with good add ons etc etc, at 21/22 if he thinks he wants to move on then go with our blessing but id like to see what happens if he sticks around for 3 years with us.

good attitude, got fouled last night, dusted himself down and got on with things - no sign of being a wee yap or * - good signs.

 

When is he out of contract is it this summer or next summer?

Hopefully he signs an extension if he is going to be in the first team. Might see it as another year at celtic get in the team impress then get a move to Southampton the following summer

He may well be our best option at right wing now. As good as Abada has been, Dembele is a much more natural dribbler.
