he dived. There's no doubt about it. Anyone who thinks otherwise has their green tinted specs on. yeah the player went for the tackle and it could've been a foul anyway HOWEVER Juarez then went down holding his leg like he'd been caught. Clear dive. Unexcuseable. Lennon will hopefully have a word with him about it.

Bit harsh? maybe. but fundementally there's no difference from Juarez and any other dive you see, from Laughatme to McGregor

a good way to stamp it out would be to make sure he gets plenty of good natured stick about it and take him aside quietly and make sure he gets the point that it's not the way we do things here. not a cause for panic, can be a learning moment for all.

Personally to start with I think he was trying to avoid a tackle that could have caused him a serious injury. If he had got straight back up and hadn't stayed down looking for a free-kick, then it wouldn't have been a problem. Since he's stayed down and rolling around, it then becomes cheating and not avoiding a potentially serious injury.

Simulation, cheating, whatever you want to call it - it shouldn't be happening.

hypothetical question: its the last day of the season, Celtic and rangers are neck and neck, if Celtic dont score then rangers win a third title. In the last minute Juarez rushes into the box, a challenge comes in with little contact and he goes down.. penalty... goal. Its all over and we have won the title. Given that any form of cheating is wrong would you a) rather that rangers went away with the league because at least then we would have our sense of fair play and dignity or b) accept it as part of football and realise the fact that celtic have been conned and cheated out of many decisions that have ultimately cost us..

personally I think its ok to sometimes be cute about it.. I will probably get slated for saying this but sometimes in the heat of the moment you cant be mister nice guy all the time the ref has to spot it and do something about it.. the cost of a dive is potentially getting sent off, calculated risk and it happens all the time..

Over in Mexico and South America players diving is not really frowned upon as much as over here. In Mexico this would've never crossed any ones mind, different cultures i guess. Efra just needs to get the diving part out of his game.

Fair point. Maybe nobody explained that in Scotland it's 'No blood - no penalty.'

i dont know why people would get so annoyed there was a tiny bit of contact.
looked as if he dived . he did look up to see if he won the free kick then rolled over again haha. craig thomson is a joke he gives a free kick for juarez dive that was so easy to see. but last year denied maloney a penalty twice and booked him for diving when he clearly never. i was * myself at juarez dive

for me he was just trying to get out the way from what could of been a horrible tackle but once he was down he then made a meal of it . hes a great little player and some people on here are being a little harsh with their words about him .

From my view it looked as if Efrain saw the challenge coming and prepared himself for it. If viewing with green tinted glasses we can say that a foul was definitely going to be committed and he prepared well. Or we can say that a foul was going to be committed and he prepared for it. Let's not say our players are diving, as it will only give the filth (media & huns alike) ammunition!

If one of our players dive I'd say the exact same thing as I would about an opposition player diving.

Diving is cheating no matter who does it and it needs to be stamped out of the game altogether, that means every club needs to take a stand on this and let their players know it won't be tolerated.

He jumped out of the way of the tackle, the rolling about afterwards was cheating.

I disagree that rolling about after you've been tackled is cheating, as it's not against the rules of the game. Dispiriting and regrettable yes, but cheating no. It's equivalent to moaning at the referee in the hope he'll give you advantageous decisions: not cheating as such, but ignoble, and not the sort of thing Celtic players should be involved with.

I think that's just being pedantic to be honest, maybe it's not cheating per se but it doesn't make much difference in my book. Hope he learns from this.
