 So if Kagawa was from Iceland you still would have splashed out on him?
You support Man U but don't even know your own club's policy.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a policy of theirs but i certainly think being japanese would have been seen as an additional reason for signing him.

Exactly. It's laughable to think that was just a coincidence or random thing, man u are succesfull purely because they have the best marketing and pr guys in football, their brand is absolutely huge and that's because when the prem was founded they aggressively pursued all avenues of income, which is why they're in * loads of debt under the Glazers but make so much turnover it doesn't really matter.

Signing people like Park, Kagawa, Hernandez, Fangzhou is an integral part of the whole club's financial structure and without it they wouldn't be as big as they are. New-age football fans in Asia don't give a * about the Cleverleys or Scholes's, they want people they can relate to and utd realised this.

So I hope Celtic are looking to do the same thing, and they appear to be, with the targeting of new and emerging markets. Celtic is a huge brand but the club have massively underestimated and ignored this for years.

Of course they would have he was bought for his talent not his nationality , ffs he was one of the best playmakers within the Germany league massive talent that is why he was bought .
This is not the place for this talk , so let's not take it any more off topic.

Not overly excited by this one but I definetely think he has potential. If his attitude is correct then he could make it here if/when he signs.

How much would he be costing?

really hope this doesn't happen, imo he's an inferior player to Watt in every way and will just hold back Watt's development. Very rarely has a player with so little ability been as hyped up as Agudelo is.

I assume your opinion is based on a deep knowledge of the MLS and hours of watching Chivas, USA and NY Red Bull games and not just a guess based on YouTube videos, yes?

if watt is truly good enough then he wont have anything to worry about besides watt can play as striker and come in from the right agudelo seems to be more for the left side of the pitch

America doesn't have a great deal of incredlibly talented players coming through right now, certainly no one ready to take up the mantle of the next donovan but I would say gatt, diskerud, and terrence boyd are all better talents and have proven themselves at a decent standard of club football.

hope we get him. he does have potential and for Lennon and co to say that they rate him is enough for me.

    hopefully we get him in.

I'm an American and although I'm not very interested in the MLS I have watched almost all of his appearances with the national team and I've never been very impressed. I'll admit I've never watched him with Chivas but when he was with the Red Bulls I watched him a bit and he did nothing to change my opinion. He is just a hype machine because he is the youngest player to score for America but since then he hasn't done much. I just don't see him offering anything that Watt doesn't. Watt is faster, stronger, a better finisher, a better dribbler, and scores more often.

Also he was traded by the Red Bulls because he couldn't get into the team ahead of Kenny Cooper who couldn't hack it in the 2 Bundesliga or the Championship.

hes young and american so that adds value to him because mls wants to keep most of the young american talent for as long as it can. Also he hasn't really done anything in the last year and a half I think hes been capped one time by the national team and his club career hasn't progressed the way many thought it would. I'm not denying he has talent he has to be decent to get capped at 17 or whatever age he was but he hasn't done anything at club level so far and the players I named are all standouts for their respective clubs.
