"Highly-rated Agudelo — the youngest player ever to score for the USA — has also had trials at Liverpool and Stuttgart."

    :97:

Hold on - they're giving it the outraged Not For Sale stuff, but he's already been for trials with two other clubs?

Hmm... either they are at it, or it's just yet more pish from Rupert Murdoch's rag...

...It's the latter. He's not been for 'trials' anywhere; nor is he here on one just now. One year he went on an off-season training session to Liverpool, another year he went to Stuttgart, and he's now here this year for the same purpose. That's what the US clubs do - they let their players go to Europe for training in the off-season; it's not a trial with a view to a move.

So The Sun seems to be upholding its usual standard of research.

Agudelo is out of contract a year from now. He is not going to resign with Chivas so they have to sell. He wants to play in Europe.

might be better to get him on a free transfer but if thats the case there will be a lot of competition for the player.

Why does that not surprise me?

All the same, if he's out of contract in a year's time, we could get him on a pre-contract come the summer? We're right to be looking into that, and we're also right to offer the club a chance to sell him now, rather than lose him for nothing.

Yeah, I agree. If we think he's good enough, try our best to get him one way or the other.

I dont see the differance of "just training with us" and being on trial.

Same thing, is it not? if we like the look of him we would try to sign him if we dont we wont.

Just training means that MLS is paying us to train the player. This is happening in Sevilla, where the atrocious Connor Lade is practicing. There's genuinely not a chance he'll sign with them. Maybe there's more to this situation with Agudelo though.

I don't think he will sign but this is a good experience for him. I would honestly love to have one or two Americans play for this club, it can be good for football in the states. I have many friends that have no respect for us and third could help out a lot. My friend who is a Chelsea fan thinks we have no history.

On a purely informal side note, your friend who is a Chelsea fan can have a suck of my * if truth be told. Their "history" starts in a different century to ours, for a start off. Meanwhile, they have managed to win their own league 4 times.

    As opposed to our 43.

Would be a nice move if we could get him interested in a transfer. He's such a gifted young player. I've always thought it would be good for Celtic to start poaching the MLS. You can get some real value there. Some great young players up and coming.

Well yeah funny thing anytime you insult them he gets do mad. What a * Jabroni. If it is not Chelsea he doesn't give a *. Also remember here in the US many are bandwagon because the teams win and it's "cool".

Watched him live at Home Depot Centre in October - Chivas USA v Fc Dallas, he was a handfull for the full back, but he will not solve the finishing problem. If you think our finishing has been poor, Chivas and Aguedos finishing was awfull, was in stitches watching some of the chances missed. good prospect however and its great to see out international scouting network trying to get good young talents from all over the globe
