If 6ft1 is a wee guy, I must be minuscule.

If they bid 4M+ happily sell, too injury prone. O'Connel, Lustig, Boyata, McCart all good cover foe centre back.

Sign of our squad that no one wants, maybe because of talent, age or more probably, their wages. We sell those we can & keep those we can't - Boyata,Efe,Commons,Bailly,Armstrong,GMS,Cifci

We have more than enough centre halves, we don't even know if this guy could last half a dozen games without breaking down again.

Showed nothing in a Celtic strip to legislate for the mock outrage. If we've made our money back or more than we are laughing all the way to the bank.

Toure, Erik, Lustig & O'Connell is more than enough for 2 positions.

Strange transfer. I never thought we would sell him in this window. I'd rather we kept him, but I'm not too fussed about him leaving. The most annoying part in all of it is that we still have Ambrose and Boyata here when Simunovic is a much better option.

No real issue if we sell him tbh. He shown some ability here but spent far too long on the treatment table. If we're making a small profit on him then its a pretty decent deal.

he's not when he's not available for selection, which unfortunately is more often than not.

Strange one tbh,Brendan said he would give every player a chance, obviously doesn't see him in his plans and thinks 4mil? for a squad player would be better spent elsewhere in the team.Big question is are the board trying to keep as much money as possible to offset the last few seaons of no champions league?

I wouldn't be too quick to judge Brendan for selling him until tomorrow night.

There's every chance we'll sign another CB tomorrow.

I really can't see us going through the entirety of deadline day without signing at least one more player.

    Wow, totally gobsmacked.

As said yeah his injury record is shocking but no way do we have enough cover.

Need to laugh on here, people are saying Lustig is done yet he's ample cover for CD, lol pace is still an issue no matter where you play. Toure is probably here for a season. Erik most on here think he's too slow and too wee, ffs.

O'connell has improved, but no way does he fill me confidence along with Efe and Boyata.

It's that bad Rangers have spent more of their own money than us, lol.

Keep reading this as well. It wasn't an either/or option.

Clearly no one wants Efe whilst the Assistant has said they have high hopes that Boyata will be an important player.

Erik is listed as 6'1, that's not that wee.

I suppose your average CB nowadays tends to be 6'3 and above though.

Italian media suggests that the Croatian defender is in Turin for a medical with the Serie A side.

We’re keeping a very close eye on this one and will bring you the latest when we have it.

    Disappointed with this

It just seems such a strange transfer this late in the day, considering we're probably not going to sign another centre-back and his Celtic career hasn't really got off the ground yet due to injury. I mean, I can understand wanting to move him on if there's a belief that he'll spent yet more time on the injury table and we might as well take what we're offered now, but if Toure and Sviatchenko get injured then we're a bit *.

I'm not in the he's too wee section, just stating the the facts.

Jozo will now be pure *, everybody will say excellent business then it'll blow up in our face with injuries or defensive fkups and it'll be we shouldn't have sold him. That's not a guess that's a guarantee whatll crop up.

I wasn't saying it was an either or option. Clearly nobody is interested in either Boyata or Ambrose, because I've no doubt in my mind that both would have been punted if a concrete offer had come in. As I said, I'm not overly fussed about Simunovic leaving, but I would have much rather it had been any or both of the other two mentioned. That doesn't mean that we should be keeping Simunovic if the offer was a good one though.

As for Boyata, he hasn't shown anything in a Celtic jersey to show he is good enough to play here. With Rodgers now in charge as well, it's even less likely he will feature, as he is our worst ball playing defender by a distance.

I don't think he's over 6'0 personally, not that it makes much of a difference.

He seems to be the same height/build as Denayer, putting him more in the 5'10/5'11 range. It's not been detrimental to their game in any way.

Lustig isn't done he just doesn't have the pace or engine to play full back in Brendo's systems. We have Erik , Kolo , Lustig , O'Connell and Boyata in order with one or two others. We are ok at centre back and Brendo might bring in another , who knows??

    We aren't done yet:86:

He'll rip a ligament during the medical and he'll warm the treatment table for another year.
