Jota.

He makes a massive difference to us. Without him we are not the same team. Honestly when he came on today it was amazing how much he transformed us. We have to do everything in our power to keep him

 

My biggest worry is that hes a benfica fan and if they guarantee him game time, better wages etc along with their new manager who will no doubt promise him the world that it will be hard for him to turn down, I just hope that he can see that ange is building something potentially really special here and he'll want to be part of it going forward.
Plus hes young so he has plenty of moves ahead of him in the future.

 

I fear he that the better he plays the less chance we have keeping him, possibly based on weather or opisition or money? If he goes back to Benfica he's going back a better stronger player! They see the games, * like but why has this not been tied up allready, same goes for CCV

 

He's another level.

 

The one thing though is the better Jota plays the more chance we win the league. If we win the league the better chance we have of Jota staying as a guaranteed starter for CL.

CCV I think he would sign but it’s probably trying to haggle over a deal with Spurs.

 

He still should be our #1 priority in the summer.

Love his enthusiasm. When he sprints, head down immediately to take the corner after it goes out play etc.....seems trivial but I think it really sets the tone and intensity to those around him.

Can't see this happening unfortunately. His agents phone is going wild i'd imagine. We all know that there are tons of clubs contacting his agent with lucrative bids. We will obviously offer him a contract but i just can't see it happening.

This is not just a very good player. He's a superstar that will play for one of the worlds top clubs soon.

 

I don't often say this, but I do think he's probably too good for us. That being said, I still think it would benefit him to stay with us for at least 1 more season. Hopefully he sees this too.

 

Exactly how i see it. Nothing wrong with that tbf. He is just on a whole other level, but as you say, i do also think that staying would be the best choice for his development as a player.

He knows that it works out for him here, and even if Benfica promise gametime its a big gamble going back there. Let's say he go back there and gets gametime but dosnt put up performances like he does here. Then he would not get the offers from the EPL which he is guaranteed staying here.

 

We really need to properly push the boat out for him and CCV. They have shown themselves to be absolute musts. If that means mental wages then so be it.

 

I agree. Pay the most in wages we can afford. We'll get it back plus a profit when we sell him on. He's a cut above the players we can usually attract so even if we only had him for 2 years it would be worth it.

 

The thing that worries me is that he will get offers from the EPL before we get a chance to sign him in the summer. Benfica could then get a higher transfer fee and we're left with nothing.

 

The bottom line for me;

He loves the Club and it clearly shows , but he's a Superstar and too good for this league, so better offers will have come in from more lucrative divisions. His head will quite rightly be turned, and for me that's why there's no contract been accepted. I think the pre-accepted bid was put in even before Christmas & contracts offered already..
