    Just can't get enough
Just have to wait and hope that it's not a long lay off, but I'd take any reports from the sun with a pinch of salt

Definitely how I'd be approaching it... Get him properly looked after and rested and then back for the entire preseason at 100%

CELTIC are braced for confirmation today that Jota’s season is over.

The £8million Portuguese winger suffered a knee injury in the title clincher against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday

And SunSport understands painful news is anticipated on the extent of the damage.

It’s believed star player Jota, 26, has already had an initial diagnosis which suggests he faces several MONTHS on the sidelines.

That would see the fans’ favourite flair player ruled out of the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen at Hampden next month.

But there are fears Jota is facing a race against time to be fit for the start of next season.

The injury put a huge dampener on Celtic’s title-winning weekend win over United on Saturday.

Jota fell awkwardly in the first-half and was substituted after receiving treatment and limping off the pitch.

He later joined in the post-match celebrations on crutches and protective knee brace after four-in-a-row was sealed with a 5-0 victory.

Rodgers, the club’s medical staff and supporters were all hoping for good news on Sunday

But it’s emerged Jota is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

He’s made 16 appearances since rejoining the club from French club Rennes in January, just 18 months after being sold to Saudi outfit Al Ittihad for £25million, scoring five goals

If fears surrounding Jota's injury are realised, he will of course miss the final Old Firm clash of the season.

Celtic travel to Ibrox this Sunday to take on Ranger

Be lucky to see him in pre season unfortunately which is a * disaster with CL qualifiers coming up. Need to spend on a dynamite back up.

Feel sorry for Jota and hope he recovers fully.....that said (Cup aside) the season is done, so with people like Yang also out, why don't we get some of these promising youngsters at least as far as the bench....

    Torn meniscus 4-6 months
    ACL - 12 to 15 months

Don't see it being anything other than 1 of these 2 looking at it now

Fearing the worst but hoping for the best at this point. It does seem like we can forget about the rest of this season.

Just gutted if this turns out to be really long term as Jota is just a joy to watch playing. One of my favourite players to watch in recent years for Celtic.

That is .ucking bad luck. At least he has the whole summer to get on the solid road of recovery. Imagine this happening in August.
We can just hope he is out for just several months and the he will bounce back more than ever.

Reckon he will be back for August.

He was walking off and still joined in with the celebrations. I'm not a doctor but I'd imagine if it was an ACL or 12 months + he'd have been rushed off.

Needed a couple more wingers in the summer for me so this should speed that process up, only comfort.

That article from the Sun is funny as well. "HUGE DAMPNER ON CELEBRATIONS" "BRACED TO FIND OUT SEASON IS OVER FOR STAR PLAYER"

Usual hyperbole. Season has 5 games left. Get him off now and see how he fairs. It's more annoying that this will impact his pre season as he really needed a big go at it.

From What I have seen since the match on the injury if it was acl he wouldn't have been back out on the pitch to celebrate . Could be a jarred lateral.meniscus ( saying that im no orthopod) which can be sore as thats the outside cartilage which usually takes brunt of things . If it's only that could be just 3 to 4 weeks

Hope your right there. If it was only a month or so that would be great news.

Looked really awkward the way he jarred it, and then the pain he was in on the ground made me think it was a right bad one but hopefully see the wee man back sooner rather than later.
