Presumably Jota didn't fancy it because it seems like a step backwards to return to your old club after only a year. You've got to think at that fee we were at least making enquiries. We could flog him again after a year and turn another handsome profit. Not for £25m, but still double whatever Rennes paid after a decent CL showing.

 

He also likes to move about and experience different cultures

 

Wouldn't he have got hammered for tax if he came back?
