instead of brining in quality players like CV, Hatate, Kyogo and Jota we should follow the lead of the rangers and bring in * from the lower English leagues that know * wants, then we won't have the dissapointment of seeing our star players leaving us for astronomical amounts.
the rangers never have this problem of any star players being bought up for vast amounts.
O.K, that's because they have no saleable assets, but aside from that they have a great business plan for their club.

Thing is though, I think we will be shafted on the fee in this instance. The deal for the players terms seem to have been fully agreed, publicly and openly before any fee has been agreed between the clubs. I think that's mental.

I get the tapping up thing but that was usually pretty subtle, there has been no subtlety to this at all. We have lost our leverage and will now have to take what is offered.

 

They need to offer a fee suiting to his salary there. 25mill minimum and even at that benefice are due a chunk

We absolutely don't. Yes, there's a risk Jota may be unhappy, but he's hardly missing out on a great club. If DD is the big bad owner of Celtic, he should put his foot down and block the move.

 

Apparently this move has been in this works since last summer if you believe reports so I don't think Ange would have made a difference.

 

I think it is all comparative. It definitely has dropped off in China too; but less so than in other Asian countries based on what I've seen. Brexit has also screwed up Europe too as most jobs require an EU passport and the ones that don't are very competitive.

In terms of teaching not being where the real money is, that's true, but compared to what? It's definitely better than the UK minimum wage and better by quite a distance too. If you have the option of a job in middle management here, that's great; but it's not the situation of most people.

Finally, I don't know how long you've been in China, but surviving on the minimum wage (which was never much fun) is noticeably more of a struggle now in 2023 than it was before I first left to teach English in 2014. I would hesitate to advise anyone on the NMW here against going to China.

Pretty much, and Ange himself said from the start don't get attached to players, there would have been outgoings if he was still here and that's our transfer model working as it's supposed to, the only surprising thing here is the mental wages being touted, not that teams in general are interested in our best players.

 

It's a truly horrible country; but to be fair, from what I can see on Google, it doesn't look like a * little club. It's apparently had decent attendances (40k+) for a long time i.e. real fans who aren't newly arrived for this new orgy of spending and it does seem to have some real history, going back to the 1920's.

That actually does make me feel a little better if it's true.

Do we know that their manager is "desperate" though?

If they really want him that much we need to play hardball. Threaten to report them fifa and uefa ifcthey don't pay us what we think is fair.

Don't know what the regulations are on players talking to other clubs whilst under contract but if there are any restrictions then jota should be reported too because rules have most definitely been broken here.
