I actually really like the sound of this club world cup. Playing teams in America n that would be pretty cool.

Asian Champions League would be pretty cool as well.

It's not the UEFA but we've seen with Ange we shouldn't discredit other competitions.

Especially when we play in Scotland.

Their ongoing human rights shockers would challenge your suggestion they're trying to become a more progressive society.

Look, I get it. It is life-changing money and like you say, it allows you to build a life for your family. That doesn't change how I feel about it. I wouldn't accept money from any establishment with the record of atrocities and oppression like theirs, and I would question the principles of anyone does. Like you, I don't make apologies for that.

I don't mean this as disrespect, I like you and your posts. Still doesn't change how I feel about it.

Aye I get that, even if he did knock it back there would be no effect on their league really, they would just sign someone else.

I just have too much faith in people sticking to their principles.

He would be a massive story and his profile would go through the roof if he knocked it back.

If they play it right the club world cup could end up being the big one imo. Every * is sick of champions league same teams, same winners. Only 2 or 3 teams good enough to win. Yet the club world cup sounds different. I'd love to play in competitive matches against these Japanese teams or miami teams etc.

The fee I keep seeing is 20m although I’ve seen upwards of 20m aswell. Hopefully we stick a sell on clause in that aswell or would that be too hard with Benfica having one? If we can get close to 30m I have to say it is very good business but 75% of the money has to be reinvested. That way we make a profit and still inject quality back into the team. Realistically with the budget of already say £30m minus say £4mil on tilio and holm so £26m remaining we could get in 2 £10m high quality players for positions needed which would leave us with £6m…. Add on say £15m even from the jota money which would be £21m we could still bring in 4 £5m players without exceeding said budget. I know this is not likely but we have the funds and should aim to get it done as long as it’s for the right players. Then we still have st sales and cl money to come in for the upcoming season. I’ve no fear of jota going tbh just once brendan can use the money on players.

Aye that would be class, travelling to the other side of the world on the Wednesday then try and get back for Pittodrie for the Saturday 12pm kick off :giggle1:

Logistics make it impossible and it’s just not fair on the players either tbh.

I respect your point of view. With respect, without having the offer on the table, you'll never really know. I know you think you do but unless you're in the situation, there is no guarantee.

Unfortunately, there are instances everywhere on this planet where 'progressive countries' have records of atrocities and oppression. *, the United States of America have just taken womens rights away and look as if they're going to try and take away rights of the LGBT community. In 2022/2023! They're going backwards, not forwards. Every country has them right now. You'd literally be working for nobody.

There are far worse countries, of course there are. Saudi is absolutely one of the worst. I like to think of myself as a moral person and people can question that if they choose to. I'll respectfully disagree.

We disagree, that's cool. I like your posts and respect your position. No problem from my end going forward from this fellow bear.

We should never take it personal, good luck to the guy, we need to get busy in the transfer market, spend the money on quality.

Wait a minute, * is going on? How can a player under a long term contract have terms agreed with another club and have a transfer go ahead without a fee being agreed?

Our bargaining position is surely gone, in theory they can now basically offer us what they like and we will need to take it or have a seriously unhappy player on our hands.

All sounds very illegal and very much like tapping up. Should be reported to fifa but we all know they will just rule on the side of the money.

I honestly genuinely couldn't care less anymore about how clubs deal with transfers, so long as we don't get shafted on a transfer fee.

Players "tap up" others players still, and have done for as long as I can remember.

    It happens.

    It WILL happen.
