Only time I didn't feel insecure or watched like a hawk is when I was in the compound. (At that time I drank) so was funny going to all my cousins mates, one made wine, the other larger and my cousin made bitter, there was this American couple that made this mental moonshine, * got me to have a shot of it, thought my head was meltin and heard the bells after it went down, though someone had belted me in the jaw lol

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist about him going to Saudi?

I for one could not give a * where a player goes to when they're leaving, so long as we're getting a decent transfer fee.

Because subconsciously we believe it reflects poorly on us.

Leaving a footballing instituion, famous the world over... going to kick a ball in a dust bowl * hole because a rapey prince is paying him over the odds.

Whatever we are, were all immensely proud, and would like to believe that the pride of the hoops is worth more than the shekels of a slave trader.

So are you saying that we morally should refuse to take the money because the prince is a "rapist"?

For me it’s purely wanting the best for the players that leave us.

I want Jota to go make the next step in football. Not Saudi.

It’s exciting when ex players do well or are linked with big clubs. Frimpong just now, Tierney when Madrid were sniffing, Dembele and United, seeing Van Dijk lift the CL. Its good.

To be fair... The Saudis are playing a blinder here.

    Theyre effectivley jumping the queue.

Another year here and cl football... EPL clubs get in the mix. They're shooting their shot.

Praying that the Portuguese manager tells him straight, Jota kid, I can't justify a squad number for a player in Saudi Arabia... You need that CL badge on your arm. Stay where you are, you'll get the "Quan" along with dollars in two years time.

We've literally brought in multiple players from Russian clubs since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.. despite the various sanctions and status as a pariah state.

I don't think our "pride" extends to transfer business.

Not at all. Take their * money. Rinse the * for every penny.

You asked why people were pissy about him going to SA.
I gave you a possible explanation.

    I never said it did!!

I was merely offering a plausible explanation as to why FANS are * he's going to SA.

Aye but your explanation had nothing to do with nothing.

Like, what's the big deal if he goes to Saudi?

Do the people of Saudi Arabia not deserve to see good fitba and good fitba players like?

it’s a good explanation of a lot of peoples thought process. People also want to believe that Jota feels the same way about Celtic or about what he wants from his career as they do.

It’s what a lot of people think. There’s a bit of elitism from Celtic fans where if we judge someone to be going somewhere less prestigious a lot of people see it as a slight on us and our status.
I don’t see Saudi league as much different from the English league, it’s just there’s no prestige attached to make Celtic come across better

    Wit?

You specifically asked why people were * he's off to SA.
I gave you a possible explanation of how some ppl might feel.
Ie. That Celtic FC to play football in Saudi * Arabia doesn't reflect well on us.

As @MacEwan put it, when talented players leave here, we want to see them doing well, playing in the best leagues, for the biggest teams, as it's a point of PRIDE.

    You asked the question ffs

If Al Ittihad offer £25m and Spurs offer £15m then there's only one choice.

I like seeing players go to good levels after they leave here but ultimately once they've handed their kit in and walked oot the front door I don't really care that much.

We need the best deal possible and given the money on offer foe him personally, I don't think Jota gives a * either.

I'm not angry about where he's going. I'm angry he's going. How * dare someone iv taking to heart leave. I'm angry about how we're going to try compete in Europe but sell our best player. At a staggering pish price. Its like a new era of hero's was born the last 2 seasons. Proper legend potential and its prematurely ending before we even got any of the goods it promised. That's why I'm angry. Like watching a true fairy tale potential for it all to * off before the fairy tales even told.

The tale of how we never stop. Stopped before it even began. * raging inside.

I don't think he will give a * about playing for Portugal when he is getting 200k a week.
