Surely we wouldn’t accept £20m for probably the most talented and technically gifted player we’ve had in ages that has 4 years left on his deal to a Saudi. The ball is in our court, Celtics board need to grow a pair with the likes of this and just slap a price tag on him, if a team wants him, say 40m if you want him take it or leave it. If they say that’s too high well then unlucky and we keep him. Hoping this is all bullshit cause I’d love to see him under rodgers be * to see some of our best leave before rodgers gets to utilise them in the squad

I wanted Rodgers back and am very pleased we managed to get him. He's a great coach.

But transfers are not his forte.

I'm worried that he'll be now tasked with replacing players like Jota.

It needs to be 25m+, if it's not it's shocking business.

It's always good to be sceptical about all sources.

But Sky appear to be the absolute worst.

Left backs always come at a premium. He was also an international regular and showed he could cut it in the Champions League v the big boys.

Like Saudi teams paying 46m or whatever for neves surely were not expecting less than half for jota.

Really surprised if this happens. He didn’t strike me as the type.

As I said earlier, this is why I cannot see us progressing in Europe, we simply cannot hold onto our best players for longer than 2 years. And yes we maybe selling them for * loads, we never replace them with better quality so to speak.

Look at the money we've received for players over the last 10 or so years. We still haven't won a knockout tie in European football since 2003/04

If they are gonna pay him 10 million a year well then the fee we should be getting should be in excess of 22-25mill.. hard ball has to be played here. This has to be used as an opportunity to break that 30mill barrier for our players..

Surely 20 million is a joke, needs to be 30 million minimum, we already undersold gg and jura, we need to get the proper fees for these players.

He'll be getting 10x what we're paying him, I think a lot of people will become "the type" for that kind of money :giggle1:

Yeah I mean 10 million per season, stays for 2 and that's him set up for life. Can come back to Europe in his peak.
