i think chances are they both will play most of the games along with khun

the drop off after the first 11 13 is pretty big for us and you can see that in how rodgers and managers before him dont really give reserve players i.e after the first 13 14 many games at all

If Jota gets back near his best, and we play him with a free running Maeda and Kuhn then I can imagine we'd have some of the most boring football imaginable as opposition wouldn't bring any of their players out further than 25-30yards for 95% of every game and they'd all be frustrating and grinding to watch... Any team that doesn't would be hilarious though, because we'd beat them senseless!

Fair enough. I havn't been debating myself in these threads recently. We will have to wait and see. All I can be is optimistic considering where we are and in that respect, I think opening doors for Maeda to play elsewhere in arguably his preffered position could reap some rewards. As been said, we will rotate and get the best from each of them. And i agree that Idah also might find more opportunies.

There's no doubt we're building a formidable squad with more depth than we've seen in years. It is genuinely an exciting time. I've just been disappointed with Kyogo's sale as feel the timing is awful ahead of a massive play off game in the CL. But I do now have trust in the manager and our recruiting team, as things are shaping up nicely. Daizen is invaluable to us, he's turned into a real key player for us. I just don't think you can shift him through the middle and have him be the same player, it's a totally different job. It did seem to he his preferred position at one point, but he said himself in Octorber he likes being out wide and he no longer plays there for the Japan national team, so I can't see him being deployed there for us unless needed. I don't believe he's anywhere near the level of Kyogo in that position either, and that's really what we need to be aiming for. Whether that's Kvistgaarden or someone else. Really looking forward to seeing what our squad looks like in the coming weeks.

I'll always have a soft spot for Kyogo. He's provided us with some cherished memories in a team that can play some attractive football. But I think Jota coming back has really softened the blow for me (despite me saying previously that I somewhat doubt he still has required ambition). Like you I have trust that we are building something and we must continue to pursue the best level we can possibly be at. This season has been a real eye opener and the competitiveness of this new champions league has seen us grow on and off the park. Theres no place like Celtic to create a buzz and there's no real limits to what we can achieve if we continue on a positive trajectory.

He scored against Leipzig and Real and was probably our best player away to Shakhtar. The fact he was good in the Europa as well shouldn't be discounted.

Will agree to disagree. I'd probably start both. Maeda through the middle in Europe at home, certainly.

    There's agents fees

    Players wages

Back and forth with clubs involved

Totally agree, I just hope we don't come to regret the decision to let Kyogo go. But onwards and upwards, Aston Villa be an interesting game on Wednesday with no Kyogo or Maeda.

With roughly 60 games a season there's 120 starting winger spots up for grabs throughout the season. Which means another 120 off the bench since we tend to sub the front 5 barring injuries/tactical changes.

S0 Kuhn, Maeda and Jota could all start 40 games each every season and come on as a sub in the other 20 they don't start and it would still leave room for Forrest to make 60 appearances off the bench. It's a non issue.

If anything we could do with a another winger capable of starting since Rodgers has already said Forrest doesn't have the engine to play the tempo he wants from start anyway. Ideally someone a bit younger who is capable of starting straight away if needed but with main aim of becoming one of the three main wingers in the short to medium term.

Then allow Palma the move he wants and sell/loan out Yang.
