Nah was a surprise from my bird. She was apparently phoning them every time I’d leave the house to double check but they weren’t answering. She was panicking

They managed to get plenty of game time between them 18 months ago. Jota was also good on the right hand side in his last spell.

The drop off between Maeda and Kuhn to Yang is too drastic imo, especially at the level we’re aiming to be. We would also be able to give Kuhn and Maeda more time to recover, get the most out of them and not risk injury.

January had a mental amount of games, even Daizen was starting to look a bit leggy at times… and that takes some doing.

Was Jota good on the right though? I always felt there was a massive drop off both in his performance and ours as a team when he played on the right.

What is it you dont get? I would love to see Jota play but my honest opinion is that Maeda is literally the most important ölayer in the team. I hope Maeda gets kyogos place as I am confident he would be great there as well. If that is the case i am delighted.

Lets be honest i am delighted either way but I would be extremely sad if maeda lost his place and deicide to leave

I thought he was better on the left for sure but he had some good performances on the right too.

If memory serves, him on the right tended to work a bit better when Giakomakis was playing as he could go on the outside and whip a ball across. When it was Kyogo obviously that became nullified on most occasions.

He’s a wee bit more limited on his left foot in terms of delivering crosses or shooting etc but he would be a drastic upgrade on any of our wingers bar Kuhn in either position.

That you wouldn't have Jota at his peak over Maeda.

Jota was one of our best performers in Europe under Ange and was a big reason why Kyogo was so successful here.

Maeda is important but when it comes to footballing ability and ability to also create something out of nothing which we have lacked in Europe this season at times, Jota is miles ahead. For me anyway.

There'll still be plenty game time for both, regardless

Maeda is probably our most important player though.

Jota was good in the EL but he didn't play much in the Champions league for us

I absolutely love Maeda, but at their peak I would take Jota and it's not even close.

You have to remember how many games Yang has played so far this season to realise that Maeda/Jota will both start plenty of games without even being first choice, Maeda can play on the right as well.

I feel like Maeda through the middle might open up a can of magic.

I get the arguments Jota v Daizen both have different attributes both will get game time..

Jota can play off the right easily too..

However, in the CL with the level of pressing and energy Maeda 100% starts.. whether that's on the left, centre or right.. is another matter..
