Brendan Rodgers' quirkiness in some interviews over the years has always been a source of enjoyment for some Celtic supporters.

The manager has his moments and across his previous time in Glasgow he had punters dissecting elements of media moments and stories he had told. There was the famous Danny McGrain story of his arrival, and of course the infamous Rangers fan interaction in the Clyde Tunnel. This time round, fans have been expecting similar instances and, following Jota's transfer exit for Saudi with Al-Ittihad, they got their wish.

Speaking about the winger's departure for the first time in front of the press corp, Rodgers opted to pronounce the player's name in an altogether different way than we've heard before - including from the attacker - during his own two-year stint

Asked about the 24-year-old's move, Rodgers appeared to name the Portuguese star "Yoto" as he said: "Listen, Yoto had a great spell in the couple of years he was here, no doubt he was a huge success.

Really hope Brendan doubles down and just refers to him as Joto for the rest of his Celtic career … it’s the principle.

    Joto on the wing :BR1:

Yeah, he’s definitely more effective down the left, but he’s still decent on the right too, so he can cover for Kuhn when he needs resting.
Think with that, and Forrest coming back from injury, there’s no rush to get a RW in this window.

Definitely need to start looking at it come summer though, can see a big team coming in for Kuhn by then, and Forrest hasn’t got many more games in him at this level.

If we had signed a player that's played hardly any games in 3 years and not found form at two clubs who are significantly weaker than Celtic what would you say? Guaranteed you would have not said it's horseshit.

You are basing something on a player who was hot and on form when we had him first time. I hope he succeeds and has a point to prove. I also standby the fact that Kyogo has been short-changed to get Jota resigned back.

You said he took a huff, I'd love to see where you got that from, nobody else has reported that.

He left us in the summer of 2023, that was less than 2 years ago, no idea where you got 3 years from either.

Lastly, saying Jota was "hot and cold" when he was here is just lies, he was very consistent for the majority of his time with us, it's why he got a big move.

Try not talking utter horseshit next time and you won't get called out :67:

How has Kyogo been shortchanged? :56:

He was the one pushing for a move and if he didn't fancy Rennes, nobody forced him into that move..
