They have spent most of their budget in summer just seen they spent 12 million on a player they are looking to get Jura on the cheap

Would be glorious if we announced he's signing a new deal and staying till the summer. Make it happen Mr Nicholson.

Ange talking about how the world cup been great for the likes of Mooy and Maeda....that's what we're seeing now. Same with Carter-Vickers. Even the big man looks improved..

That's why I have no worries about Juranovic. He'll be itching to get out and play next week. Be as confident as anything..

Reckon he will start against the huns, could be his last game. His stock will never be higher so we should sell. We have plenty options for the RB slot now but feel we do just need him for huns game on the 2nd. And hope he sticks a boot into that show pony Kunt as a parting gift.

Might depend how close to a selling point we are with any interested clubs. This is potentially his big move. Got to play some part psychologically.

Really he likely would have played some part tonight if he's itching to be involved. Still think he's our most likely starter for Monday as think Ralston has been played at Aberdeen and Livingston when he shouldn't have which means he's out.

Might have to play LB against the Huns if Taylor is out?

Think Ralston will likely be fit as Ange said he had a chance of starting tonight and Johnston has been here a few weeks now so should be good to go.

Playing a player who's potentially going to earn us £20m against those * cloggers would be a mistake they'll be out to put him out the game and do us out of the money.

Ange did say he only had a days training in him and as we were already 2 up....might've thought we could leave it....get a a few more day's in to him and have him ready to go for them instead..

Ideally want him back for the huns but I keep imagining Johnston having one of they debuts that will live long in the memory. Got a feeling the guy is gonna be a star.

Yeh also mention of an injury too. Not saying it's a bad decision just pointing out from Juranovic's perspective there is lot going on.

Think a case can be made for Johnston playing Monday too because of that but reckon it'll be Juranovic.

Aye Johnston will have been training with us for a while now and be ready to go. I don't think Ange would have any issues starting him if need be..

Ange Postecoglou insists there's nothing to report on Chelsea's apparent interest in Josip Juranovic.

It's emerged that the English Premier League giants are monitoring the Celtic ace ahead of a possible transfer bid in the January window. The 27-year-old excelled at the World Cup for Croatia and he returned to the Hoops squad for the 4-0 win over Hibernian at Easter Road tonight.

Juranovic was an unused substitute but he's expected to face Rangers in the second Old Firm derby of the season against Rangers on Monday. A host of clubs are monitoring Juranovic's situation at Celtic and it's understood that the Parkhead side would be willing to cash in if they received a significant profit on the £2.5 million they paid Legia Warsaw for the talented defender last summer.

When asked if there was anything in the stories linking Juranovic to Chelsea, Postecoglou replied: "I can say that I've heard nothing

Definitely doubtful, think we wrecked him by playing him ill and injured.

With Juranovic back I'd expect him to be first choice.

    1) He's just made team of the tournament at the World Cup... How much 'improvement' do people really expect there's there to be had?

    2) If they sign him on a 4/5 year deal, for £15M (what I anticipate to be a fair value for him) it's as small an investment as as £3M a year. If he helped contribute to even a single league position improvement, or next stage in Europe etc in any of those years he'd return more than his outlay...

    3) The days that a proven, high-end, international player is considered 'splashing big money' at less than about £20M+ are long gone. It's derogatory to ourselves to price them so low because other 'better' leagues and their media cheerleaders continue to belittle us

He’s back and, like his team-mates, Josip Juranovic is hungry for more success with the Celts as 2023 kicks off with the Glasgow derby this coming Monday.

The Hoops defender had a stellar World Cup with Croatia and returned with a bronze medal after his country won the third-place play-off by beating Morocco.

And, for the moment, he’s not letting the medal stray far from his grasp.

Juranovic told Celtic TV: “It’s here, close to my heart – what can I say about this medal? It was a special moment for me and a special moment for this club also, and a special moment for my kids.

“I can say to my kids that I did something special, also with the club, but on the world stage I was third, and now I need to keep going like always, working hard and that’s it.

“Qatar was really hot, something different from here, but when you are playing against Messi, against Vinicius – so many good players, that experience is really high and now I put my standards really high and I need to prove that to everyone that I need to keep myself there.”

Not that long ago during lockdown, the thought of four Celts representing four different countries at the World Cup never mind two of them facing each other at the round of 16 stage in a penalty shoot-out would have seemed far-fetched.

However, Juranovic with Croatia, Daizen Maeda with Japan, Aaron Mooy with Australia and Cameron Carter-Vickers with the USA all received rave reviews for their performances – but something had to give when Croatia and Japan faced off.

The defender said: “To be honest I had two different feelings, I was really happy about my victory and going even further, but I was sad to see Daizen Meada, how he was crying and everything, but that’s football. One guy is leaving with a smile the other guy is leaving in tears.

‘But, again, everybody from the Celtic players at the World Cup represented Celtic really high and that’s really good to see.’

As if that wasn’t enough, we also witnessed a Celt not only playing against Brazil – but winning the Man of the Match against the side many expected to take the trophy home.

Juranovic said: “You know, we didn’t have the pressure that we needed to win, they had it.

‘We were playing for our country – a small country but one with a huge heart, and I think that we showed to everybody that even small countries can beat the favourites for the World Cup.’

“And that’s the beauty of football.”

Now, from the sunny climes of Qatar, it’s back to the heat of the derby this coming Monday, and Celtic’s Croatian internationalist is delighted that the Hoops have carried on winning in his absence.

He said: “That’s good because now we can say that everybody who is here can earn his place in the team and even if somebody is injured or at the World Cup, we are keeping to winning and that’s the most important for this football club.

‘In the training session I was seeing that the boys are hungry for more, and that they are waiting for Monday – also me.’

“After tomorrow we will start to analyse their games and everything and we will be 100 per cent prepared for that game.”

Whatever happens in the transfer window, I love this guy, always shows his class when talking about the club.

Refreshing to see how proud the Croatia team are to get all the way to the semi finals, makes a change from the never ending wingeing we have to put up from our neighbours everytime they get knocked out.

I am beginning to wonder if there is a clause in his contract for around £8M as how could publications be so ridiculous in their valuations?
