    Ironically Eboue best game in a Celtic shirt he was a box to box player in Europa league.

    I remember thinking after that game he's a lot better going forward than I give him credit for.

    Ability to stay of the treatment table is Eboue biggest hindrance and not any incoming player

    Keep Eboue and start him in cup games as a minimum, still feel there is a player in there.

    As pointed out, his performance against Zenit at home was superb.

    Also not being played consistently was his biggest hindrance, he was class in that game then after the away leg he was dropped till end of the season then thrown into random games last season before his injury.

    Last month reports surfaced claiming that Ecuador U-20 star Jose Cifuentes was a target for Neil Lennon to bolster his Celtic squad over the summer.

    Before last week the Hoops boss, while denying a move had been made for the 20-year-old midfielder, confirmed that Cifuentes was a player who'd come up on his radar.


    And now in an exclusive conversation with Football Scotland, Cifuentes - who currently plays for America De Quito in Ecuador's top flight - has responded to the rumours of a possible move to Parkhead in the near future.

    He said: "I think that [as you say] it's a rumour, and as for any contact [with Celtic] my agent is handling that. I understand that there is interest but nothing concrete."

    The youngster has been courting clubs across Europe thanks to his sterling performances for Ecuador U-20s in last month's U-20 World Cup in Poland, helping them to a third place finish after they were edged out in the semi-finals by South Korea.

    A tournament which Cifuentes capped off by being awarded with the Goal of the Tournament for a thunderous strike in Ecuador's 2-1 win over the USA in the quarter-finals.


    Cifuentes confirmed that he feels he is ready to come to play in Europe, with a move to the east end of Glasgow one that would of course interest him should the chance come up.

    I want to have the opportunity to leave for Europe. Celtic is a big club with everything that they play for. I had heard of the club before [the interest started]."

    And the fact that his name has been mentioned in conversation with a manager of a team playing in Europe in Neil Lennon and Celtic is something he takes great satisfaction in.



    That is very important and something that fills me with pride. But we need to see what happens."

    Rumours have surfaced that the midfielder is on Pep Guardiola's radar at Man City, yet Cifuentes neglected to respond to any suggestions he might be making a move to the English Premier League.

    And in respect to suggestions made by his Ecuador U-20 teammate Sergio Quintero, who told the press in his native country that Celtic were (also) interested in his services, he responded with:

    If he is available for the reported 2.5m and we don't sign him (even bid), the board should be lynched considering it sounds like he is interested in coming to us. His price could quadruple in a couple of seasons

    Ajer didn’t train with us during week mate only development loans are you allowed to do that. Unless when we where due to play Killie he was sent back to train with us but that’s generally not allowed between teams in the same division
