Just remember the letter "v" in dutch names always pronounces as an "f".

If you can pronounce Loofens, you can pronounce Hooifeld aswell. Just remember the to vocals in-row (as Hooij-donk), and the "f" it's easy ;-)

    From tomorrows Sun

CELTIC landed Dutch defender Jos Hooiveld last night in a £1.9million swoop.

The AIK Stockholm giant has penned a three-and-a-half year deal to become Tony Mowbray's second January signing.

And Hooiveld could be joined at the heart of the Hoops defence by Irish ace Sean St Ledger.

Mogga has had a £1.75m bid rejected by Preston for the unsettled stopper but is likely to up the ante this week.

Hooiveld finalised his big-money move yesterday after touring Celtic Park and Lennoxtown.

The 26-year-old trained with the Hoops on Friday and is in line to make his debut against Falkirk this Saturday.

The 6ft 3in centre-back is a replacement for departing Gary Caldwell.

But Hooiveld's arrival won't signal the end of Celts' interest in Republic of Ireland ace St Ledger.

The stopper spent the first half of the season on loan at Middlesbrough and doesn't want to stay with Preston.

Deepdale chairman Derek Shaw has kicked out the Hoops' first offer but he knows the player wants to head north, with Mogga set to pursue a deal.

Caldwell is expected to seal his switch to Boro today with team-mates Barry Robson, Willo Flood and Chris Killen.

New Bhoys Hooiveld and South Korea midfielder Ki Song-Yung won't make their bows against Morton tomorrow with the Scottish Cup fourth-round tie again certain to fall victim to the big freeze.

A 9.30am inspection on the frozen Cappielow pitch today is academic with Hoops and Ton officials set for talks to arrange a THIRD date for the tie.

It's likely to be next Monday night. That will force the postponement of Celts' rearranged game at Kilmarnock on January 20.

If we have got him, and it looks like we do. Brilliant.

If we St Ledger now I will be very happy with these january transfers:50:

If we get two CB's, anything else is a bonus:icon_mrgreen:
