I'm not really sure how league 1 compares to the spl, would it be reasonable to suggest that outwith the old firm, the spl is equivalent to 4th to 14th place in league 1? If so then Jordan Rhodes could probably score more goals than hooper for us!

true but its more of a risk buying a player who has never played outside league 1 so far in his career for 4 million and hoping he can do a job for us playing in europe, than buying someone like that Joseph Akpala boy for example who managed to get 7 goals in 11 games in the europa last season for Brugge for less money. Just my opinion. Rhodes could easily prove me wrong, but a 4million fee for a league 1 player is a hefty price to pay(especially for us) even if he has managed to grab alot of goals this year.

Also, do you mean that we already have options at the club right now to play upfront in europe? or do you mean that we have options that we are looking to bring in to strengthen us for europe? Because I feel we still really need a striker with at least some european experience to come into the team.

I mean we have options at the minute. Akpala is fine, but his European goals were hardly against world beaters if I remember correctly.

We don't shop in markets where Champions League quality (at this point in their careers) players are available to us.

i honestly have a gut feeling that he will be a spectacular failure at the club who pays this kind of money for him.

He said (roughly) 'Moyes signed lots of players from lower leagues who can score'. He didn't say 'all players Moyes ever signed from lower leagues have scored plenty'.

Really think Huddersfield going up has dealt our chances a real blow. They'll look for at least £5m now.

If he doesnt leave for a prem side, i reckon he will be one of the top scorers, i would say if he sticks with huddersfield he will get 30 odd goals next season.
