There would be alot more pressure on Rhodes to deliver instantly though, just because he is a striker. Say for example he went his first 10-15 games without scoring there would be folk getting on his back. It's always harder for a striker imo

Rhodes is 22. Oxlade Chamberlain was 17 maybe just turned 18 when he signed for Arsenal.

don't really see how that matters rhodes has completely bossed that league this season and has shown he has the quality if there is enough interest he could very easily go for 10 plus million everybody knows he won't score forty goals in the pl but he could very easily get a return of 10 plus which for the PL is seen as a good return

Saying Rhodes isnt half decent because he netted 40 in that league is the same as people knocking Hooper for scoring 5 against a team in 'the * SPL'

Dont jump on that bandwagon. Rhodes is a quality player and would be a great signing. 40 goals a season at that level is tremendous.

It's harder to score goals for us though, he probably wont get as much service or chances as the games he plays in now are more open. Plus he may not fit into our style as he's not that good a footballer and could struggle playing against packed defences.

£5million would be far too big a gamble for us as he could end up being a player who doesnt even score as much as Stokes.

It would be hard for him to repeat season like this wherever he goes, though I think at Celtic it would be easier as he'd have great service and weak opposition. Stokes and Hooper did well in European games, they just extended their league form to Euro games.

Yeah, Rasmussen would probably score decent amount of goals, but I isn't Rhodes more than just a goalscoring striker like Morten? Never saw him play, though his record is excellent so he might be at least a bit more than scorer.

Why do we always do this to ourselves, with players we've got no chance of signing?

    He'll go for 7-8 million.

Then we'll have folk on here in twelve months time remembering how we "missed out on him" - sack the board. :56:

This is the guy ... this is the guy I wouldn't mind seeing replace Stokes.

Don't get me wrong, I've been a firm supporter of Stokes for the longest time, but this guy is dynamite.

Not a chance of us landing this player. He's gonna be special.

No harm in putting a bid in and put some clauses in there that huddersfield will find hard to turn down

We can afford 6 or 7 Million, but we won't spend it. He would be the only signing aswell along with 1 or 2 bosmans or loans.

What we have to do is speculate and sign someone like this for a few million as he will have a good sell on value as he is still young. but I think I would offer 4 or 5 million up front and the rest in and ons.

    Not gonna happen.

This transfer season will be the usual * I'd be surprised if Lawell even goes near £2Mill for a player. I wish to * we didn't waste money on utter * like Bangura and splash out on Juarez then let him go MIA if we didn't we would be able to spend £6mill maybe even £10mill

How can you say bangura is *. when he has barely had a chance and once he gets his first goal I think you will see a big change in him. I think he is just too desperate to get his first goal and is trying too hard

so we spend out entire transfer budget on one player?

Bangura has yet to prove himself but who's to say he won't. Spend £6 million on a player who could flop as well? There are no guarantees that wouldn't happen.

Spend within your means, that's the only way to manage in Scottish football.

Positively amazed that even with the goings on at Mordor that people want us to spend "maybe even £10mill" on a player. Mental.
