Really, REALLY glad that Levein signed him up for Scotland.

Could turn out to be HUGE for Scotland.

As for Celtic, we'd be competing with EPL/Championship boomerang Clubs & we all know how much money they've got.

Depends on the player though, we've got Ledley, Hooper, Wilson & Mathews from better Clubs.

 

Has he made a first team appearance? Did he get any minutes against Cyprus was it?

 

Just saw his goals today on BBC1 there, would be happy with him in January,but don't see it happening tbh

 

The lad can finish his 3rd and 4th was world class .

 

Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield game was 4-4 and he scored all 4 of them

He already said though half English he was born and bred Scottish and only wanted to play for Scotland

Didn't realise he is turning 22 in Feb. I thought he was 18 or something! He is banging in the goals but for someone only a year and a half younger than Stokes I'm surprised at all the hype he's being surrounded in.

Imagine how many goals Stokes would have scored playing in League 1 last season, and we only payed £1.2 mil yet the figures being talked about with this lad are £3 mil and over ?!

That's a good point! Altho before Stokes came to us, it kinda seemed like he was tainted in some way - like he could only succeed at Hibs and was too much bother. That's all turned round now tho!

 

Stokes has come on leaps and bounds since moving here. if Rhodes does come, i would expect him to step up to a high standard sharpish.

 

Good point. Stokesy will turn 24 not long after Rhodes turns 22 - and Rhodes has scored more or less the same amount of goals as Stokes in 40-odd less games. I think that, and the fact he's in amazing form at the moment for the national under 21's as well as Huddersfield, is why he's getting so much hype

 

But Rhodes is playing in L1 and no matter how much English fans want it to be true SPL is not the same level as L1.

 

Didn't say it was mate But just remember the more comparable striker on our books with Rhodes is Hooper, not Stokesy. Hoops played in League One at the same age as Rhodes is now and went up and done just as good - if not better considering its a harder league - in the Championship, then better again up here... don't underestimate his ability/potential just cause its L1

 

i live in england there is a lot of EPL clubs with there eye on rhodes if we can get him to sign for us it will be a masterstroke C.T.I.D

 

was 25 clubs watching him on sat from Championship / to prem.

 

Ooh, this would be an excellent signing, he scored four goals against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, he has 17 this season in the league. In the SPL i reckon he could be at least a 25 goal a season man, if not 30. I could see him as a future Hoops Number 9.
