I wasn't too impressed when he first started off but he was like 16 - 18 at that time.

Looks like he's learned a thing or 2 off his old man anyway. Delighted for him, even if it's not going to be in the hoops.

 

He had a wee stint at Helsinborg where the talent was obvious, then Norkopping it looked like he just needed a chance to kick on. It should have been us. Moscow took that chance and now he’s out of our price range and the only chance we have is sentiment.

 

I'd accept having a bunch of duffys in defence if we could sign this boy.

As much as it would be awesome for us as fans, could you imagine the pressure, weight of expectation that he would have been under if he had come to Celtic?

I mean, there is enough of that as there is on players here and the demands for success, but then to have to try to compete with the ghost of your old man's legacy and all that comes with that. There is probably enough of that no matter where he plays, but it would be so much more intensified here. Even if he did come to Celtic and scored 20 goals per season, it would still be viewed by many in context, not with his peers in the team, the likes of Eddy, Griffiths, Ajeti or whoever, but that measuring stick of his da, not to mention having that being asked at every interview, every fan interaction, every time laces a boot to take to the pitch.

Literally every other club in Europe there wouldn't be that same additional scrutiny and burden. Even those that his old man played for, because he was at those clubs for much shorter periods, compared to the 7 years spent here. So when you sit back and think about all of that, it's understandable why, even if Celtic ever did make an approach, that he would be hesitant about it.
