Gutted, just as he was starting to get his big chance. He would've been a great player to have around for the 2nd half of the season as well.

At least he's at the best club for it to happen at. No doubt Brendan will keep him involved and make sure it doesn't affect him mentally. Clean slate for next season and hopefully he'll be back to full fitness in time for the qualifiers.

Shame for Jonny. That's him and paddy now out, leaving us with 3 fit wingers in the squad.

Will we see more involvement of Calvin miller as well? Or another loan in January?

Hope he makes a full recovery, and like others have said, shame this has happened now as he will have been an important player to have come the second half of the season.

This has to be Big Calvin's chance, I know they were trying to mold him as a lb but he can perfect back up to Sinclair.

    * gutting for Hayes really looked liked he was coming into a game after his goal.

Hearing Meekings is getting a hard time on Twitter. Wasn’t his fault at all.

Awful news, he's been showing himself an ample squad member too lately

Worst timing possible, utterly * for him.

Hate to say it but, for me, it will be a minor miracle for him to come back even as a squad player simply due to the timings of it.

Depends on the type of determination he has, I think he is a wee solid * who'll bounce back.

Only problem with that - like you hint at - is it's probably cut his Celtic career short by a year.

BRENDAN Rodgers and his players will brave the winter weather at Lennoxtown today as preparations continue ahead of Saturday’s Glasgow derby.

One player who won’t be involved, but who will still be at the training centre is Jonny Hayes, who suffered a broken leg in the Boxing Day fixture against Dundee at Dens Park. And the Celtic manager revealed that Hayes is remaining positive as he starts on the long road to recovery.

We’re obviously gutted for Jonny because he’s really settled in over the past few months and you’ve seen his performance level, either when he’s come on in the games and when he started against Aberdeen, and it’s a real shame for him,” the manager said.

“He’s had the operation and it looks like he’ll be out for the rest of the season. He’ll be in here later today. He’s recovering very well from it and he’s under great care here with the football club and we hope he can get back as quick as he can.

“It will be a busy time for him. His wife’s expecting their second child in January, so there’s a bit going on for him.

“I went to see him in the hospital after his operation, and he’s very philosophical about it all. He’s also thinking about the young guy, Josh Meekings, as well, because it was just one of one of those things which was accidental.

“Both players were very committed. Jonny’s gone in to press, the young guy doesn’t see him, and they both clash. So it was unfortunate. But we’ll look after Jonny and get him back as quick as we can.”

As much as Jonny's probably devastated about his injury, it couldn't have came at a better time for him personally.

Will be able to spend many months with his mrs and weans.
