That just makes no sense, Christie and money for Hayes. Should be the other way about.

This is a good deal. Brendan is making his own stamp on this squad.

Just realised he has 23 goals in 165 games for Aberdeen.

    23.

His assist rates are good, however.

Near 100 million made last season in revenue, and we buy Hayes. Fully trust Brendan though, if he see's something in him....

He'll be our Adam Lallana. Hard working winger, linking up play, always looking for the ball, keeping the attacks flowing, banging in the occasional goal.

    In Brendan we trust. :shamrock:

I'm conflicted. So I've decided I'll just go along with whatever Brendan wants :50:

Even though I wouldn't be against us signing Hayes, cash + Christie sounds like a pretty lopsided deal.

Then again, does it mean Christie in a permanent deal?

    That hasn't been stated yet.

Really don't want this too happen, especially for Christie and Cash.

I think the whole thing is bullshit tbh, no chance we'd swap Christie a 22 year old with big potential for Hayes a 30 year old with such an injury history.

Surely it can't be Christie on a permanent deal for them? Another year loan would be fine though.

Hayes will do a job for us, like Hartley and Roberson.

The way I look at it I trust Brendan 100%.

No one knows what is happening at Celtic regarding in or out but maybe Brendan is thinking that he has gms and Hayes is a domestic upgrade and we have other targets for the European campaign.

See if window closed and we have went from

    Sinclair, Roberts, Forrest, gms

    To

    Sinclair, Roberts, Hayes, Forrest

Then that's an upgrade for me

    However if it is

Hayes, Sinclair and forest then we have downgraded on quality but if we don't get paddy back anyone would be a downgrade.

Considering we could potentially take £50k - £60k a week off wage bill with Ambrose, commons and toure all out of contract I agree with you

would be a clever move IMO...the more i think about it the more i like it.

he's a pretty versatile player in the sense that he can play on the right, left and in the middle. he's pretty tenacious, direct & battles hard and at 29/30 has got a decent amount of experience. That and he'd probably be bursting to play for celtic- would be very dependable when called upon across the attacking midfield i think. Im not saying Christie wouldnt be any of these things..i'm just trying to think about Brendans thinking with this one.

Can see him becoming a well liked part of the squad if we sign him

*if we're losing GMS then Hayes would be an ideal replacement
