Said it earlier but I think if we genuinely want him he'll be signed as back up to Tierney and Sinclair so Izzy will be allowed to leave.

He's played left back a few times for Aberdeen and looked decent.

He's a better player than Forrest for me, so I suppose I'm not against signing him, especially if we send a player or two the other way and it's basically a freebie. However, if we aren't getting Roberts at all then I'd still like someone else in to play RW, who can improve the first 11 for Europe.

They guy is fast, can shoot, cross, and is decent on the ball. Maybe playing with better players and under a better manager will take him up a level yet.

I would take Hayes no question about it. Criminally underrated- best of the rest in the SPL. Very consistent and hard working- I hate the aloofness of oh we can do better. You take a player on his merits not who he plays for- he would do well here. We sound like EPL * holes talking about Celtic. Hayes is a quality player and one I would like to see here.

Get this to *. If we go for players like this then we never learn. If he was 21 thats fine because they progression to be made but he is coming up for 30.

really hope not - he's a good spl player but there is a reason we have gone unbeaten, because we are better in every position and don't need hayes.

Also he's definitely not better than forrest in my opinion. He's not a bad player and he's probably aberdeens best but not celtic level for the future.

i don't think its aloof to want better. I don't think people are basing the opinion on because he plays for Aberdeen. His strengths aren't up for question, it's what can he add to improve this side and keeps us moving forward.

At this moment in time opinions are based of the face of Patrick Roberts has left and won't be returning. Therefore the direct comparisons are is Hayes an improvement on Roberts. For which I don't think he is.

No thank you. In fact any domestic signings I think would leave me very underwhelmed. There's no one I'd like at all from another Scottish club.
It's not snobbery or superiority that we 'can do better'. I just honestly don't believe there's anyone here that can vastly improve us. As far as I'm concerned that's what's needed. Potential starters not squad players.

I agree, some of his touches, energy, obviously the goal v us and how consistent he is I think he be a signing who will push the 1st team for a place in the team.

I agree. I think Christie would be the better prospect. Reports we're using him as a make weight in the deal for Hayes are crazy to me.

I'd rather keep Christie than lose him for Hayes.

Having said that, I wouldn't be against loaning Christie back to Aberdeen as he was terrific for them.

Brendan seemed to have a lot to say in his ear at the end of the game and oddly enough I got the impression he was saying you're coming to us bhoy :56:

christies only 22 johnny hayes is 29.

christie has scored 6 goals in 13 games for aberdeen, jonny hayes has scored 26 in 165 games.

ones already at our club and wont cost a fee the other will cost 1-2 million.

johnny hayes scoring record is pretty crap for a winger and christie is younger and better goals per game ratio.

honestly dont see this happening.i can see rodgers prefering to mold christie.just rumours.

I've been thinking about the left back part. He'll probably get 10 starts there when resting Tierney and another few on the wing.

Then again, who fancied McGregor at left back and Armstrong at right back? Rodgers has even had Forrest play in a deeper wing back type role.

Not saying it's a great idea, but stranger things have happened. And worked.

I would swap Hayes for Christie, if Brendan wants him.
