Hayes will tear the SPL up like he has been doing with Aberdeen. He ran Lustig ragged in the first half of the Cup Final last Saturday. It also definitely means GMS is for the offski, he has been a complete flop here, and to think we put Scott Allan out on loan and kept this imposter. Hayes will also be decent back up for Sinclair, who lets face it has had some underwhelming performances lately.
And at 29 Hayes is still a nipper.

I think Hayes will thrive in our team. He's proven at this level and will be surrounded by players significantly better than in Aberdeen. But is he of the quality we need to do a descent run in the CL? I don't know about that, but I trust BR on this one.

If we done that we would have never had Broony, Armstrong, Jackie Mac etc..

Why is Scott Allan relevant? Couldn't even get close to a start with the worst team in the English championship. GMS has tried but he isn't good enough which is a shame and he will move on. But scott Allan is a worse player with clearly a very poor attitude. If GMS has the same attitude as Scott Allan then I'm sure he would have been loaned out last season too.

Aye True mate but they weren't turning 30, I fully support Brendan but I just don't get this one apart from the tried and tested part.

We should give Scott Brown back to hibs.

    and everyone else then. :56:

If he is 21/22 then this is a no brainer. At 30 years old i would defos pass on this. How does this strengthen our starting 11, because thats what Rodgers says we will be doing.

I agree mate, it's a strange one if it goes through.

I'll trust Brendan, he has obviously seen something he can work with.

Maybe give them Christie & Allen in player swap

Neither of these guys will be anything special at Celtic.. tidy players but
can't see them making massive improvement. Would also free up two
    sets of wages

Exactly. Barry Robson and Paul Hartley spring to mind immediately for me as they were 30 or so- also Scott McDonald, Gary Caldwell and Didier Agathe(50k from Hibs) could be added just off top of my head.

As others have said it could be him for the SPFL and Sinclair and I pray Roberts for Europe, if so then I can maybe see the point more after I've stopped moaning like * about it. :giggle1:

It is only the 2nd of June, in fairness.

The players who will strengthen the starting XI are still to come. If GMS is to leave and Roberts is not going to be here until at least the end of August perhaps (if we even get him back) then we need a winger in quickly, even just a rotational one like Hayes to replace GMS, initially.

I have no doubts that the strengthening of the starting XI will happen. Just need to be patient and let it pan out before saying anything drastic.
