We have to sign him in the summer. He's just class, great dribbler, pace, great workrate, plays in midfield or forward, scores, creates, good in the air.

He should have been signed a year or two ago. Lennon better get his finger out!

Just watched the game there from around the 50th min, and once again Russell was the one who impressed me much more compared to Mckay-Steven, who was hooked on 65 mins actually. Granted, I missed the 1st half, dunno what Mckay-Steven was like during that. However, Russell is the one I want the most. 2 goals, excellent work rate MOTM. Surely it is only a matter of time before we get him here, cannot let this one slip away.

We do have to sign him. He`s the biggest talent outside of Celtic to be playing in the SPL and is only going to get better. He is going to be absolute top class

He's probably the only SPL player not playing for Celtic that I like right now. GMS is good at dribbling, but his crossing is suspect at best and I feel he would just be a squad player here.

Today proved beyond all doubt that Russell is ready to make the step up from United to Celtic though. 22 years old, Scottish, great prospect.

Please sign him in the summer, Lenny :50:

Gotto be honest I would like guys like Russel, Watt etc to become a much bigger part of the team. I am not a fan of the getting a good player who doesnt really want to be in the SPL and is going to work their ticket a couple of years later when the EPL etc come sniffing. I would like a team most made up of homegrown young players who are happy in Scotland. Getting great players like Vic and Hoops only for them to be headhunted after a few good CL performance just * me off too much. We have a unique opertunity to blood younger players for the next few seasons in SPL matches without risking much and we should do it. That is what football is all about.

Sign him and GMS up. 2 really good, creative, effective players and are playing right under Celtic's nose.

Id only take Russell. Russell is a Premiership class player who could start for Celtic week in week out.

GMS isnt as good as Forrest, Commons or Samaras.

Paul George should be on the verge soon too and we have Twardzik and McGeouch. Id let him go to the Championship.

GMS reminds me of McGeady with a better cross and not as much extravagant skill. If I had to choose, I'd pick GMS. Commons isn't getting any younger and Forrest is more effective on the right. Samaras is also hit and miss domestically.

    No chance at all.

McGeady had great pace and unbelievable stamina, was strong and a much better allround player. Mackay-Steven isnt even comparible, hes more a Ross Wallace, Chris Burke type character.

Johnny Russell is far better than him imo, strong, quick, intelligent, hardworking, great character, creative, scores goals, good in the air.

For me Russell, Fletcher and McCarthy are the best 3 players to have come out the SPL in recent seasons. We missed out on two, we cannot miss out on the 3rd.

I think Johnny Russell is quite under-rated, he should be in the Scotland Squad and have already had 10ish caps.

There are several Scotland players he is as good or better than. Id say hes as good as Maloney, Commons and Snodgrass and better than Dorrans, Naismith, McCormack or Mackie.
