No chance, Griffiths is a below average player who shoots for fun and is greedy as *.

Russell is a lot better than him, holds the ball better, better movement, pace, ball control, heading, crossing, passing, workrate etc

No one since the SPL began recording shots by players in the 2001-2002 season has ever hit more shots than Griffiths hit this season. He hit 68 shots more than Billy McKay from Inverness who scored the same number of goals :56:

leigh Griffiths is probably a better pure goalscorer but he lacks other things which will hold him back from playing at the highest level, mainly pace. Russell probably won't score you as many goals but hes fast and a good dribbler and can score quite a bit as well. He could also play anywhere in the attack such as on the left wing or behind a striker if we need him to.

I have a feeling this is going to be another James McCarthy scenario. McNamara is in the paper today saying Derby and Utd are getting closer to agreeing a deal. We better not let him slip through the net, especially considering it isn't going to take a big transfer fee to bring him here. Utd have already said that they need to sell him this window.

We'd be stupid to let a talented young player like Russell leave the SPL if he's going for around a million.

Couple of seasons of banging in 20+ league goals for us and a few decent European performances and he could be sold on to the premiership for decent money.

I love his pace and energy and we need more players up front who will close the opposition down relentlessly and set the tempo of the game. You only have to look at the impact Brown has on this team to realise we could do with a few more players ready to set the tempo with their energy and pressing. He's versatile as well and if we are moving towards a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 it will be important to have players who can operate in a few attacking positions.

    Sign him up!

Less than a million, gotta get him and gotta take the chance for.that money.

Only problem i foresee with all this waiting for other teams to bid is will he be thinking we're not actually that keen and if we do bid he might pick the other club because they want him more.

I don't think we're interested at all,if we were there'd be no contest...

    Derby or Celtic :87:

Would like to have him but he wouldn't fill hoopers boots if he left, would be another good spl, squad player

Cant help to think that our attention hasnt been on Russell for a while. I think we'll be concentrating on other targets.

I think anything under £1m is a bargain for the lad.

Really disappointing if we let him go. Definitely worth a punt at around a million.
