If he's going to be going for free due to the end of his contract I'm sure they'll be sniffing around.

They are an absolute pish team, he doesn't look at RB anyway.
At tannadice earlier in the season he played very well in CM against us, though yesterday they played that wee guy with the mad hair that looked *.

I like Souttar in the centre as well. Yesterday was a bit hard to judge him, as United were so poor. Although it looked like he chucked it on Broony's goal.

Going on United's season, it might be time for Souttar to look elsewhere. I wouldn't be unhappy if it was at Celtic.

I don't want him here, would be good if he got somewhere in Europe though.

I like Souttar think he has great potential, his little brother is good too.
Souttar can play CM or DM, and with his height and strength could see him eventually playing a good holding role just in front of the CB's.

I think Hammy would support me on this assessment :smiley-laughing002:

Provided Simunovic and Boyota can form a more solid defensive partnership than the Ambrose Boyota deatm team, which let's face it, shouldn't be hard, I think a DM should be near the top of our shopping list. I wouldn't mind seeing Souttar here if the price was right and he fits the Deila singing policy - young, Scottish, decent on the ball and plays for Dundee United. Would be quite happy if we signed him.

If we want another DM we should be scouring Europe for another Wanyama type. No nonsense brick wall who is already built like a tank at a young age.

    They are out there.

Always liked the look of souttar at cb the past couple seasons, not seen much of him at cm/dm though, but by all accounts he is better there.
I'd be reasonably happy to snap the lad up and play him in the role you suggest. Maybe even playing him in a dm position rather than playing Johansson in the am position for tougher european matches. Shores up the defence and allows ball playing from the likes of Brown and bitton.
Its what I like about a 4231, not that we do it, is that the central attacking midfielder (johansen) should be able to change to a dm, or a striker (obvious different player) if need be.

At the moment Dundee United are terrible; Souttar is no stand out. Personally, I don't see him as potential and the surrounding around him being linked with us is over rated. We have taken DU's best players I just see this as concentration from the media on our recruitment policy where we are investing in Scotland's talent. I think we can do better if we end up getting him. I'll be disappointed if we end up getting him.
