Thought he played well against us today. Was all over the pitch tracking back for an otherwise weak United defense. Make a few good tackles and had a great through-ball on their goal. Looked good on the ball, and had some pace. Young and touted with high potential, if we can get him on a pre-contract I dont see anything wrong with that. Also gives us actual CDM cover for Bitton and Brown.

:50: He's not a player we absolutely need but he would fit in well in our midfield or at the back and still has lots of potential.

Him and Ajer then I'd be happy for defensive and cm cover.
As I said before he played like that last game at Tannadice, has good qualities for a 19 year old and would only develop & improve here. Better than Blackett.

    No ta.

I'd rather sign Ajer and Mocinic.

Good prospect but I don't see him getting much game time for us.

Take him on a free at the end of the season, wouldn't be a bad young 4th choice centre back

Looked decent but nothing more on Fri. He wouldnt get near the team anyway.

Looks like he done in his knee and apparently has had recurring issues with it. Probs a future crock/sick note.

If efe goes then bringing this guy in for about 500k wouldn't be bad business I wouldn't think, but for him to be 5/6th choice CB is kinda pointless. If he's going to be our choice of support for CDM then that's quite unambitious of us, although behind broonie, Bitton, A.Nother as 4th choice wouldn't be too bad either.

Just depends how much we expect from him how risky the transfer will be.

All for this signing- we have to many midfielders who are attacking we need balance. Souttar would act as back up to brown and bitton and could do a job in the spl and europe with a bit more experience.

That's my point. I know gaving him there would be better than nothing if either brown or bitton are out,but it would still be quite a drop in a big match i think. Id rather have a quality DM in and this guy to rotate in cups/SPL duties

Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Lambert and Hearts are ready to tussle over the signing of Dundee United’s John Souttar, according to STV.
According to reports the Tynecastle club have had a £100,000 bid rejected.

19 year old playing 53 games so far in SPL. The magic number is to get 100 games in SPL before you are 20-21 giving you the option of a big money move down south.

For very little money pick him up and then loan him out for another season and see how he progresses. Or get him training with the first team.

Alongside christie, allan, henderson i think he could fit in nicely with a scott brown esque player

Hearts have been linked with making a six-figure bid for Dundee United’s John Souttar.
The teenager is out of contract at Tannadice in the summer and has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
The 19-year-old was understood to be on Celtic’s radar however the Jambos have now entered the race for Souttar’s signature with Blackburn Rovers also keen to land him.
The Tynecastle side have already had one offer rejected and have now bid £100,000 for the player.
However, United would be entitled to a substantial development fee for their youth academy graduate.
Back in 2014, United has to stump up £204,000 in compensation to Rangers after they signed Charlie Telfer.

It would be a mistake if we let Hearts or Blackburn snap Soutar up I feel.
We will regret it if we do, because he definitely has great potential, and it looks like something in the region of £200,000 would get him.

If we actually want him I feel we'd get him on a free at the end of the season no problem, if we don't go for him, I'll trust the scouts judgement

I don't know what to think of him to be honest, I've seen bits of his talent shine through at times and he's def better in midfield but, apart from recent matches, he's been very poor this season and I know you could say that about the whole United team but I excepted players like him, among their best, to step up and do more but they haven't apart from Spittal, who has been good for them almost every game.
I'm torn between thinking he's overrated or he's a steal at that price. Can't decide which.

My opinion is that if we pay £150-200,000 this month to get him, he either fufills his potential and becomes a great player for us and maybe gets sold on, he ends up being decent and we get a servicable player, or he's nothing special and he moves on. For me thats more than worth it. I'd much rather say we gave him a chance than say "remember when we could've got him for 200k?" down the road when he's bought for 8mil.

    Got to agree.
Its pocket change really for us. And the chances are, even if he is * and doesnt cut it, we will still manage to make a profit on him. Even if that is selling him for 500k in two years.
