we have been entering countries and wars as a nation forever and probably always will and comparing them to nazis is nonsense as they are famous or infamous for mas murder and the slaughter of innocents and whilst i agree with few of the wars we have ever been in and the reasons for said involvment i acept that whilst by their actions people died it can in no way be compared to the nazis

To me losing someone with Reids political connections and influence can only be a bad thing for the club.

I felt we were ideally placed for the fight against anti-Celtic sentiment that runs deep through Scottish society. With Reid, Lawell and McBride taking the fight to the SFA thought we had a real chance of winning the fight.

Good luck to Dr Reid and indeed out new Chairman- hope realises there's a war to fight off the field!:shamrock:

I have been at CP and heard some bhoys criticise John Reid for his politics thats beside the point.I think that John can hold his head high and should be applauded for the manner in which he has supported the club and stood up to those in the press who thought we were a soft target and together with Peter Lawell should be commended for the work they have done for Celtic and I for one wish him all the best because I know he will be there to watch the team next season and for every forseeable season :shamrock::shamrock:

  13. his political past will always be a sticking point for fans even if he were a chairman of any other football team.

but i think it's collectively agreed his personality was perfect to stand up and fight for the celtic cause and that fighters instinct will be missed

We were a better team before he arrived so I'm happy enough to hear he's no longer with us.
