Aye .. he even played on the right wing now and then for Hibs..
In any case it would be interesting to see what BR could do with McGinn..if he wanted him..

I think he'd be a great signing, probably in top 3 Scottish players outwith Celtic. Now would be the time to sign him to complete his development under Rodgers.Just don't see who would be dropped for him though.

He'd be a useful addition to the squad.. and gives an option at times Ntcham is still young and will have periods of inconsistency.. a Brown/McGinn midfield would be a force to be reckoned with as would a Ntcham/McGinn in the future..

Rogic, McGregor, Armstrong & Eboue are all excellent squad players and McGinn would add to that especially as we may lose Rogic and Armstrong..

Broony played as a right mid for us at times also under Lennon for a period in 4-4-2

He has more 'dig' than Armstrong. Quite a bit more, while also providing his energy and runs from midfield.

Brown comparisons are always going to happen for obvious reasons. Get why people are saying it and I also get why people disagree, but in regards to the latter Brown was a different player at 22/23 to what he is now as well, so there is scope for Mcginn to be moulded into that sort.

I've came round to this quite a bit lately. Hope we move for him.

I feel that Ntcham has earned his place in the team now and the mere arrival of Mcginn wouldnt change that until such a time as Mcginn was able to take his place from him.
I believe that Ntcham is a better technical footballer than Brown and Mcginn, but both have qualities that Ntcham doesnt. I think the signing of Mcginn would allow for Brown to be rested more often as and could potentially prolong his career and reduce injury potential.

I agree with the first part of this because Mcginn uses his body and seems to enjoy the physical side of the game. I think Mcginns determination and drive is remarkable.
The way Mcginn plays at the moment reminds me more of how Petrov used to play- box to box and likes a shot from distance or how Brown used to play when at Hibs.
If mcginn moved to us i think he would have to be more positionally diciplined than he is now.

Agreed, but that would all come under a manager such as Rodgers and playing in a team which is expected to win week in week out.

Being a Celtic fan and with close connections to the club he will know what is required and I feel he could really kick on here. He wouldn't walk in and displace Ntcham or anyone immediately as you say above, but that shouldn't be expected, even if it was a player with a much larger rep that would still be the case.

The way I see it is, with a year left on his deal, and the obvious potential, we would be silly not to take a punt at this stage. In a few years we may regret not having a player with his drive and determination in the midfield.

Plus...if McGinn turned out to be good enough, he's the sort of guy who would probably stay here for years...maybe even be another Brown in that respect.

Think we can all agree he would be a useful addition to the squad..

Depends on price and whether BR wants him...

Talk of £5m is too far though. Maybe if he was tied down for 5 years I could see Lennon pushing for it but not with a year left.

£2.5m should be enough, maybe less. Noticed that St Mirren get 33% of any fee so Hibs will naturally want to squeeze as much out of it.

He’s worth £5m in this market.

He’s not worth £5m for us.

£3m, Allan and Kouassi for a years loan.

McGinn Brown Ntcham would also be an excellent option in a 4-3-3 ... would absolutely own anything domestically...

There could be a bidding war with teams down south that may drive up the fee. With them losing Mcgeouch on a free, supposedly to Blackburn if rumours are to be believed, Then i hope the use of Allan as a make weight could benefit us.

Genuinely when was the last time there was a ‘bidding war’?

It always gets mentioned but can’t remember it ever happening.

I think that's a really generous offer, with a year left.

If we are giving up two players then I'd be wanting the fee to come down. I know we don't need Allan but, still.

We will NEVER get in a bidding war with any other scottish team. If we want a player, we GET that player.
