Mcginn is worth 2-2.5 mil but not the 5 mil lenny has been quoting. Armstrong will probably be leaving in the summer so I think mcginn would be a decent replacement. Kouassi is getting virtually zero game time at the moment so offering him on loan for 6-12 months where he will play every week for a good hibs side seems a no brainer to me....only a suggestion lads:52:

    I don't think there's anything in this.

This made me giggle, but really...if Kouassi is better than McGinn, where is he? He's not gonna cut it. Get McGinn in.

Where is he? He's on the bench, which is exactly where McGinn would be. Also, McGinn is 3 years older. In three years kouassi will be at a much higher level than McGinn

Kouassi is absolutely streets ahead of McGinn. If we didn't have Brown, we'd be * Kouassi as much as Ntcham, he impresses every time

Exactly where he has been for two seasons now, then. I don't think McGinn would be coming in to be a bench player. There's plenty of room in the middle for someone else to accompany Brown, especially in Europe.

Name the game we're supposed to be impressed with him being 'streets ahead'. At the very least, we can't know what his true talent looks like as he's hardly featured in his time here.

Depends what movement we have in the summer going out if he would get enough game time here to keep developing, especially since brown has showed no signs of slowing down and ntcham seems to have the other spot in our cm 2 almost nailed down.

Maybe sign and loan back to hibs for the season, or til January.

    St Johnstone at home

Was quality in all three. Only reason hes not getting played is because of of Brown, Mcginn would get the exact same amount of game time as Kouassi, * all and for me isnt as good. McGinn looks good agaisnt us and thats it for me, otherwise he goes missing in other games, all well and good showing up against us but there are 11 other teams in the league.

Said it before but the only way I see McGinn coming here is if we want a cheap back up for Ntcham after selling Armstrong.

He played alright in those games, but nothing to command a position in the team, which is why he's been benched ever since. I vaguely recalled him doing a bit more memorable, but thankfully I was blocking out bad moments of play like this:

How the * did we not put that team out? :43:

Anyway, besides, Brown is 34. We'll need someone in.

He'd be an excellent squad player, there's no doubt about that.. can think of a few games where his strength would have been useful this season.

We have seen he can operate at a good level domestically..

Kouassi looks promising is young and we need to see more of him..

Would rather have a fully committed McGinn than a 'come and get me Brighton Armstrong'...

Brown’s 32. And McGinn isn’t anywhere near good enough to replace Brown and doesn’t even play like him.

If Hibs get anything over 2.5m for him they'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

I'd swap him for Allan and 1m. But anything north of 2m and a player - and we're being robbed.

I can see why the comparisons with Brown are being made, but they are inaccurate and unfair on McGinn.. especially Brown under BR who is operating on a different level to anyone domestically, his consistency has been remarkable..

Can't blame them for trying to get the maximum from their 'asset'...

But as Minty has alluded to, BR had publicly stated he wasn't interested.. and that's all that matters really..

Dylan McGeough is more of BR type player if we look purely at what BR likes in a player.

I don't think he does... Brown was much more dynamic a more box to box player if you will.. McGinn has a better shot and a better passer of the ball than Brown was at that age..

Both Scottish, tenacious & play for Hibs are the main similarities for me..

I meant the Brown under WGS, sitting deeper in a 2 man midfield. Not the one that was at Hibs who pretty much had a free role

Am I the only one who actually thinks he would be more of a replacement for Armstrong?
More so in the immediate future?

I'm almost thinking if he comes in, he will be playing back up to ntcham next season. With Eboue playing back up to Brown.
