Absolutely silly that we have let it get to this.

I rate him, I would like him here.
But anything like what they have been demanding is not worth it for me.
More so if we dont go out and get a defender as well (aside from other out going).

A defender surely is a bigger priority. I just hope we haven't put the last of our funds (we should be spending more), on this attempt now.

 

But our fans will see it as our board are the problem where I agree with your statement above, you have a chance to sign for your boyhood team and you knock it back.

All looks like what Lawwell done with Jackie McNamara 13 years ago left it until he was on his way down to Wolves.

 

This thread is almost as much of a * as this transfer saga has been.

There’s every chance he goes to Villa and fades into obscurity. He’s making a huge mistake imo.
Clearly nowhere near as big a Tim as made out either.

 

The Boyata situation suggest to me we haven’t actually been looking at other CB’s at all, or at the very least haven’t being doing so with much conviction. Getting an 8 figure offer for a player who can sign a pre contract in January and leave for free, and having to turn down that offer because we’re so threadbare at the back is poor.

The club have done a lot of good work over the last few years, but this window seems very amateurish, the Edouard transfer being an obvious (and in fairness pretty big) exception.

 

In fairness, Jackie was finished by then.

If McGinn wanted to play for Celtic enough he'd end up with us, that's the long and short of it.
