I can remember the anger at us signing Lubo well enough, never seen such outrage pre-social media times. Everycunt was * seething.

The moment you dont feel like you need to improve is the moment you become complacent.

    No.

I'm simply asking the details of the 'absolute fact' that we have put in * take bids?

If it's those bids you're referring to then the reported bid in from Villa is £2.1 million which is £600k more than our rumoured opening bid and £100k more than our final bid, neither of which would I say is in the '*-take' category.

Before any of this started I predicted "we'll demonise Petrie to try and make this feel like more of a victory if/when it happens". Been transparent from the start.

It would be interesting to know if that was the case. Given our healthy finacial position, we would risk losing out for thr sake of 100k?

You have no idea how much we’ll invest this window at the back or otherwise and neither do I.

What I do know is we’re pursuing targets and will be trying to bring in another couple.

True enough, it remains to be seen. But as time goes on, it increasingly looks like it will be the usual transfer deadline scramble. I just dont think that its acceptable. Especially if the strategy is to wait until the English window closes.

Seeing Schar, a defender of a proper pedigree, going to Newcastle for a mere £3m * me off, especially given the money we have brought in. In the end that could be the difference between europa league/champions league or group stage/last 16.

playing devils advocate, we probably couldn't or wouldn't compete with newcastle on wages, so may not have been just the £3m which of course we could pay no problem
you know the players all over the world are aware that england pretty much pays the best wages and has over inflated the transfer market
probably makes sense for that market to shut before we do business then we dont need to pay the inflated english wages

I don't think we would, which is my point really. Without knowing the full facts we can only surmise.

You can pick and choose players all over the world and there can be a million and one reasons why we can’t sign them. What if Schar wanted to play in the Premier League? What if Newcastle are paying him 60k a week? What if Rodgers doesn’t like him? Etc... etc... etc...

Yeah could be the case mate. Just wish we could make a similar signing. I still fancy Ajer to be a top center half and I think he is better than Boyata but would be nice to get him a top partner at the back.

He didn’t look happy when I saw the video of him, and it doesn’t look like he has full control of transfers like we’ve been led to believe. Things don’t add up

He’s now said he doesn’t have, said he’s here to develop players. Pedro’s taking over again now he’s brought the success back.

I think he has controm over who comes in and who we target. The financial side is another matter though and he was never going to be incharge of how much we pay for players
