Not sure on that tbh mate, we’ll see how it pans out but I think that’s our arrogance shining through again.

Brown said hibs are right to hold out for as much as they can, right after that we put another bid in they aren't going to accept that are they straight away ? you dont' go in at inflated asking price , start low then meet in the middle.

I just think we've been given assurances from McGinn that it's only us he wants to come to..

    We'll soon see either way..

I’m actually sure if I’d want him if that’s the case btw, we must not actually really want him if we’re giving pissy offers and willing to wait a year. What’s the * point then man? Get the bhoy in man.

I would leave it until January now. The boy is Celtic daft. He knows we want him and will sign a pre season in January imo

No I'm not. I was refuting your assertion that a player is only worth what the buying club will pay. In financial terms that is accurate but in terms of footballing ability it is often not the case that the transfer fee reflects the player's worth.

If you don't think adding midfield depth to our squad is a matter of urgency then I respectfully disagree. Other than Scott Brown and Olivier N'tcham, who else do we have to man the deep central midfield positions?

    Nir Bitton? No thanks.
Kouassi Eboue? I would like to see him get more games, but for whatever reason, he doesn't appear to have earned Brendan Rodgers trust yet.

We need another body in there. If Brown or N'tcham were to get injured for a couple of months, our midfield would suddenly look quite threadbare.

All the * Hibs, * Petrie, stuff being spouted in here is just childish. They are looking after their own club's interests in the way they think is best. Which they are absolutely entitled to do.

Watch the two of them on the pitch. They are absolutely in the same bracket ability wise. Add to that the fact that McGinn has more scope for improvement in his game and it becomes quite reasonable for Hibernian to look for £4 million for McGinn after watching us flog Armstrong for £7million.

Football players aren’t only worth what clubs are willing to pay, I’d argue to the death against that.

The only solid bid we got for Larsson was £15m, how much was he worth to us?

*, how much would we get for Callum McGregor or James Forrest? Probably the same as we got for Armstrong, how much are they worth to us?

I think if there was concrete offers and threatening offers from down here, then we'd of went to 3 mill or so already or thrown a couple of player's in at 2+ mill. We must have some sort of dialogue with McGinn, agent or something I think.....which is why we're happy to sit back and wait quite confidently..

I do feel the 2 mill offer was fair though anyway. Allan in as well and it's a good deal for them in my opinion..

We must want him. I just think there's a realism that most accept we don't need him just now....and they've played their hand playing him in a dead rubber European game..

Out of interest, how much would you say those two are worth to Celtic? And is that value higher than it would be for a potential buyer?

It just smacks of Celtic fannying about mate and that’s the attitude I * despise in us.

See what we did with Edouard? In and out, get the business done. That’s the way I like us conducting ourselves, with a bit of surety.

I dunno. I said at the end of last season I wouldn’t accept £10m for McGregor so you’re probably talking £15m plus. Hems a guy who could easy still be here in 10 years I think.

Forrest... * knows again. Look at our last 4 Champions League qualifying campaigns and you’d say we might not make it there without him. How much is that realistically worth?

There's a bit of * waving going on at board level I believe but we are being made out to be * and I don't agree with that..

You can say the first 2 were * take bids but the third wasn't when you look at it. If they negotiated 2.2 or so and Allan in...no one would question it whatsoever and we'd have done it no problem..

They've clearly been leaking stuff and playing him in Europe to spite us..

Completely different to how PSG dealt with us. We're well within our rights to * them off now and wait..

We aren't the first and won't be the last to go in with low offers to test the water on a player almost out of contract..

So all this low balling pish and pay £4m or offer kouassi, Allan, Christie, Johnstone on loan!

How about we phone that fat * Petrie and say the £2m is there on the table until the 9th August 5pm and after that it is down to £1.5m until the window closes failing that ya fat * we will get him on a pre contract come January and you will get fuckall as he will be 24 by the time he comes next summer.

Also an important fixture in this situation is St Mirren who are due 1/3 of any fee! They are missing out on potentially £665,000 which is double what we paid for Morgan! Don’t be surprised SAINTS are watching this * Petrie too knowing he if * them over also!

If they are that close ability wise on the pitch then why is there next to no interest from England, where as there was constant talk of Armstrong heading there. Yes he made it clear he wanted to play down there, but you have to back that up with performances, for me McGinn has a bit of improving to do before he even becomes a regular with us if signed.

Aye and it definitely won’t be the last time we conduct ourselves like this, Edouard and Ntcham are the outliers , we usually act like this tbh.

Then technically we are operating with a good business model.

Although, I do tend to agree with your point.
