Not fussed, reckon we will sign him and he might do alright. Don't think he'll go on to be class from the times I've watched his Hibs games.

He's not on Ntcham level of potential but all successful teams have a bedrock of Scottish or Irish players. If Rodgers sees him as worthwhile to get in then we've got to back him. If we manage swap Armstrong for McGinn and come out with a £5 million transfer fee and probable £10k a week surplus then personally I think that's tremendous business.

HIBS have rejected a THIRD bid from Celtic for John McGinn.

SunSport understands the Hoops came in with a £2million offer before the Hibees faced Runavik in Thursday’s Europa League return.

But Easter Road chiefs didn’t hesitate to say no after previous attempts to buy the Scotland midfielder at £1.5m and £1.75m. They value McGinn at £4m.

So far it’s believed Celtic have offered solely cash although Hibs boss Neil Lennon could yet be tempted if the likes of Parkhead fringe men Scott Allan and Ryan Christie are offered.

Time to tell them to GTF and we will take him on a free in January! They won’t make £2m any other way!

Tell Rod Petrie to stick it up his sphincter.

Time to sit and let them panic, as we get closer to the end of the window they'll be the ones coming back to us inviting bids.

I'm not really fussed about getting McGinn either but if we are to get him. I would rather the club I support gets the best deal that they can not that another club gets the best deal for them. Hibs don't give a toss about us so why would you care about them?

Just wait and get him on a pre-contract deal in January

Not worth the 4mil,* Petrie. Our midfield is fine without him for now. Will be a good addition to the squad next year.Feel sorry for him as he seems desperate to join but we're not going to be ripped off in the process.

So we put in a third bid before and they still played him in Europe..

I genuinely hope we don't table any other bids now and if we still want him, sign him on a pre contract for nothing..

No more freebies and loan's either..

Defoz. We've been more than generous to them in the last few seasons: Henderson, Stokes, Commons, although maybe their holding out as revenge for us lumping them with Efe

Getting really fed up of this McGinn saga.

He isn’t going to walk into the side therefore I totally understand why we are not paying more than £2 million for him with a year left.

Wait and get him on a free. He wants to sign for us so unless some team offers more this window we will get him.

We are normally so good at getting our transfer business done under the radar and concluded quickly but this is just frustrating.
That isn’t necessarily our fault as Hibs are the one playing hardball. Fair play to them for that but they are taking a risk with him having a year left on his deal.

I think he will prove to be a good addition but he isn’t going to come in and improve the starting 11 but will be important over the course of the season with the amount of games we play.

I hear Brendan say time and time again about bringing in quality that will come and walk into the side rather than squad fillers.

Defence should be priority and I know he wants to get the right players in but there is no excuses to not get defenders in for the qualifiers when we clearly need improvement in there and we are always short of them at this time.

Sign him on a pre-contract in January for nothing.

He can't play in the qualifiers and wouldn't make any difference in the group stages. Also clearly don't need him domestically either.

Absolutely right. I'm not as impressed by this guy as some on here but, if BR reckons he's worth 2 million - fair enough. However, Hibs (Petrie) can GTF now - I think if there was genuine interest from any English clubs - it would be done by now.

If anyone is wiling to pay more than 2 million - that's fine - we move on. If not, we'll sign him for 500k max in Jan or on a pre-contract.

Like others have said, no rush to sign him as there doesn't seem to be many others trying to sign him and it's not like we need him now. We will just wait till the English Premier League window closes Aug 9 (which is actually less than 3 weeks away) where Hibs will be * themselves and fearing the gonna lose McGinn for nothing or next to nothing if he waits till January and sign a pre-contract with anyone.

I probably go as high as 2.5 million, if they don't accept that then wait till Aug 10 and start bidding again from 1.5 million to 2million. If they still don't wanna accept it, then just sign a pre-contract on January the 1st, then agree a payoff of a few hundred thousand to sign him in January.

Get Broony to text him to sit tight, we’ll come for him at Xmas. Give McGinn more compensation to sweeten the deal. * Petrie.
