Thanks. I looked it up. Given the teams in it I take it Australia win it fairly often?

    Surprised by that

South Korea, sure but the others Australia beat in that championship you'd expect them to surely?

Most of them yes, but other countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran for example are also difficult games.

Really? China I could see being tougher but honestly thought they'd be rollovers for you.

China are rubbish, the Arab countries and their “naturalised” Africans and Brazilians are handfuls.

The Australian National team is rubbish. We had our Golden generation with Cahill, Kewell, Viduka, Schwarzer etc and nothing since.

Ange won the Asian cup AFTER the golden generation retired with the exception of an older Cahill.

    Fair enough.

Saw Australia vs NZ in the SCG in 1997 I think. That much have been your tin or bronze generation. Good to see you've moved on since then.

Australia weren't great that day but don't think I've seen a poorer international team than that NZ team.

NZ in 97 would defeat us now. We’re absolutely rubbish.

They've only played in it 4 times won it once lost to Japan twice once in the finals once in the quarters and lost in the most recent one to the UAE in the quarters.

They are one of the big fishes along with Japan and South Korea in fairness

See the thing is, I could almost get behind keeping Kennedy, as long as he wasn't our assistant manager.

It's keeping Strachan for me, really feels like he's been solely given a job based on his Dad.

I wasn't expecting either of them to be horsed out the door.

What I was expecting was for Ange to bring in his own staff and those two Muppets to get shuffled down the ladder.

It would appear that the good ol' Bhoys club, that is a * cancer at our club, has now spread to Ange Postecoglou.

    And still no DoF.

Really gutted that this muppet-along with lap top, are both being kept. Surely Ange just has to look at those 10 games last season and see through the pair.

They will claim they are coaches and not managers. That will be their get out of jail free card. However everyone could see the failings and they didn’t even try to fix or change anything. It was so blatant Stevie wonder could see it.
    The malaise continues.

I would rather him and Strachan were gone. They should be for their part in last season. Kennedy more so because he showed * all to merit being kept on during his spell in charge.
None of the two them though will define what happens this season. The two things that will define our season are the board/Dom McKay and Ange Postecoglou. Ange I reckon will be big enough to stand by his way of playing and not suffer any troubke makers. McKay has to produce the goods by backing him.
It does worry me though that Kennedy in particular seems bulletproof.

It’s worth noting that Ange has never brought old staff with him into new jobs. He likes to work with new people and bring them around to his way of thinking.

Until that doesn't work. He has a history of bringing coaches from left field, and doesn't really bring in coaches established at a significant level. Most he's brought in he has known, but not necessarily worked with in the past. Hutchinson and Ontong both only just starting to establish themselves, Pappas very young, but very talented, Muscat was only his 2nd season coaching, milicic was quite established and then brought in Gombau who's very much a journeyman.

Oh I would love to see gombau as an assistant at celtic, the bloke is a loony.
