I am sure the lawyers will be the only winners but why hold on to unsettled staff, senior management harmony is far more important. If people want to move on they will.

Do you disagree that if either or both are wanted and want to go that the club won’t hold them here against their will?

Sorry mate, but you've just made my point for me.

As I said. I put little or no stock in incumbent or ex players swearing by a coach. As I previously stated, professional opinions in this game are painted with a personal brush.

Would you like me to go ahead and search Google for all the names of ex players, including World CLASS players that have credited that nutjob Collins as key to their development?

Or even all the loopers that came out of the woodwork after the mole got appointed?

How about Andre Villa Boas publicly claiming that Ally McCost was the best manager in Scotland, and the title was destined for Ibrox, as he done his badges alongside him?

In no way am I dismissing it as totally worthless, but it's nowhere near indicative of the image ppl try to project.

Again, you've also listed as redundant, that managerial failures are unfairly listed as his failures also... But then go right ahead and attribute successes as his.

As for the "day to day" running you allude to? Is that not common practice at ALL big clubs? The manager designs the training and fitness regimes, the tactical sessions etc, the assistant and coaches implement it? It's hardly a big green tick in the competent box that he can do what he's told.

I once again point to his record as interim manager, which some have claimed on here is "worthless".
It anything but. He was given a chance to showcase his knowledge of the players, the squad as a whole, his tactical awareness, and his leadership skills.
He ran his mouth off in pressers and then took an already disastrous performance level and made it WORSE.

Obviously there's always going to be a big divide on the Kennedy issue.
I just hope he's gone sooner rather than later. It's time for new blood in the coaching department.

In truth, he probably is a competent coach, and a very likeable guy. But this constant saddling new managers with him has to stop. Best part of a decade we've had him in this role, or close to it. He's the very reason we lost our on Howe, full staff or not, it's widely believed that he's a * package deal when it comes to us. You wanna manage Celtic? John Kennedy is on your staff.

    Enough is enough.

So people that’s worked personally with somebody should be discounted because they don’t know as much as somebody who has never ever seen him take even one coaching session?

    @LectersLuncheon

The Howe stuff is just factually wrong. Jason Tindall knocked us back. Eddie Howe will never work without Jason Tindall.

We were told that Rodgers wanted him at Leicester now Ange wants him at spurs, i'll believe it when he actually goes.

If he doesn’t follow Ange to Spurs reckon he’ll move into management at a smaller club somewhere. Queens Park could be a good move for him if he wants to stay in Scotland.

Definitely time he makes the next step though, he’ll be a big miss to the team I feel. Every manager he’s worked under has talked him up hugely, showed by the fact Rodgers & Ange wanted to take him with them down South.

Again mate, just proving my point.

Both VVD and Griffith's claimed that their development working with Collins was incredible.

Would you like to see him back at Lennoxtown?

I'm not saying it should be discounted. But in no way whatsoever should it be used as a infallible truth that because a coach is cosigned by other pros, it's incontravertable proof. It just isn't.

And it's the excuse that gets wheeled out here anytime anyone suggests he should move on. Ppl think because 2 ex managers and a few players spoke highly of him we shouldnt even have a debate as to whether his position is justified.

You ever go for a job and get references? Do they come from any place other than a favourable source?

If a reporter asks a manager or player about a coach he's working with, or has a good rapport with, you think he's gonna be 100 honest about any deficiencies?

    Of course not.

I wouldn't at all mind seeing Collins back at Lennoxtown as a coach (not as assistant manager). I'd be pretty happy with that!

Would be great if CelticTV could film the first day in training with him flashing his 6-pack and doing 50 press ups to a perplexed looking Maeda

I’m just really interested in what you’ve personally seen of his work, sat and watched yourself and found out what part of his role he isn’t good at or is poor at.

No * here has a clue.

If he wants to go, just let him go. There is no point in someone being here that wants to be elsewhere. Like players, if you wanted to be at another club are you going to give it 100%.

I find it very worrying that there is little concern amongst the Celtic support that John Kennedy is leaving, he is massively underrated and underappreciated. He will be a big loss to us. If things were to go pear shaped next season, everyone will say its because we are missing Postecogelou....there could be more to it than that.

Personally, I'd rather he stayed as I do think he is underrated and key.

On the other hand I also think if he wants to leave he should be allowed to if that is going to make him unhappy.

There’s two schools of thought on it, will it help a new manager that’s all for it, keep the success of the team we’ve built having a smooth transition, help the players think business as usual and keep settled players not seeking moves now.

Or will it be stifling for a manager of a certain calibre who would not do it without his own team, wants to come in, change it up and make his own mark on the background day to day running and dressing room mentality.

Personally, I think for Kennedy’s own good and personal improvement, that may end up coming back around to Celtic to help us more in the long term, it’s time to go.

By all accounts from people who have actually witnessed him day in day out, he’s a highly rated very good coach. Test himself at a higher level of football if he has the chance with Ange now, maybe go out on his own as number one. If he improves and makes it, he may be back one day.

He’s been a part of hundreds of success.

    Couldn't agree more.

And heard similar about his involvement at the coaching level. He's pushed a lot of the individual analysis of players and professionalism in the coaching is my understanding over the last 2 years. Probably with a bit of prodding from Ange, as it was new, and only post-Lennon, but he made it part and parcel of being in the squad by all accounts.

More then likely yes. I would guess at this point the only hold up is us squeezing Tottenham for as much compensation as possible.
