Of course they're getting a bashing. we could have 4 great loans this year and lose them all next summer. We sold £12m worth of talent and reinvested £2.3m. We didn't sign players we needed before the qualifiers. We only made a move for a striker we needed on the last day of the window. We've gotten rid of deadwood upfront but have left us short now we have only brought in one striker.

The board have had a nightmare in this window imo.

Love this wee burd but she needs to stay the * away from the paperwork and out of Lawwell's pants until this Guidetti * is sorted. We don't need six 3-0 defeats in the Europa.

    Just a view.

Up front don't know anything about the lad and if he comes, hope he does really well, however for those really excited at John Guidetti coming here, could be right but then again maybe not. Not going to give links to the site but if you're interested have a read at Man City Fans Forum - Transfers. Very mixed views. Too many would not be sad to see him leave and nearly all ones I read said he wouldn't make it with City. Appears he's had injuries and one bad one after his time with Feyenoord has set him back - comments like he'll never get back to that sort of form. Also comments about his weight and fitness.

Like here, we all have our own views, which is what makes the Forum great. But just because he's a name from a Big Club doesn't mean he's the Star Man.

As I said at the beginning, just a view and if he comes, wish the Lad every success with us.

Fucksake can Celtic never do anything the easy way? The guy was seen going into Parkhead at 6pm, thats 6 * hours to sort out a deal but still we end up dithering and * about. Now it seems perhaps we may still get him, so another simple deal has turned in a long running soap opera, it can be * exhausting being a Celtic supporter at times.

Maybe it wouldnt be such a big deal but we all know how much we need to strengthen the team so we do need this guy, especially when you consider he does appear to have real quality (20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord).

I fancy this will go through, sounds as though at 11pm last night we had done everything right, would seem harsh for us to be punished

If Celtic do push Guidetti case, worth noting that Europa League squad to be submitted by midnight tonight.

I get that but he does have potential, which is what market we operate in.

Those comments from fans are fickle. He would obviously never get into their team. I doubt we'll see many Chelsea or Man City youth players promoted at those two clubs.

He would've/will be a risk but would score more than Balde or Pukki. I hope th footballing Gods are on our side.

Yep I agree. I'd imagine he'd be looking for something close to £30k, something we'll not give him unfortunately.

Man City have a strike force containing Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic & they have just loaned out Alvaro Negredo. It's not exactly the easiest team in the world to break into.

You need to have been a free agent when the window shut to join another club after the window so if he is freed we still couldnt get him until January anyway

To be honest despite watching football way way too much in my life live and on TV I need to google about 75% of our signings these days.

That's not a criticism of the players in question more a statement on the market we now trade in.

We can all pretend it's ok and be apologists for the boards stance and recent statements but the sheer amount of loans signings are again another sign of how the clubs stature has gone down alarmingly.

Do we have a scouting network theses days or do we just go around looking to pick up other clubs players who are surplus to requirement and are looking for someone to pay their wages....

Who has the final say on these players I wonder? I remember for certain Lenny didn't yet despite that their is still a minority that try and blame him for the * we have watched since July rather than the bigger picture.

    * aff with this one, the cynic in me thinks we gave less of a * about him when Scepovic came back with his tail between his legs which I think will prove to be a massive mistake.

I've read it as well. He's had his injury problems and such-like but he's barely played since his time at Feyenoord. Players like that sometimes just need a run of games to get going again and on loan or on a free I think he'd be worth a gamble given he managed such an impressive goal/game ratio. Goal/game ratio at previous clubs has perhaps unsurprisingly been a pretty good predictor of signing success at Celtic when it comes to strikers. Good goalscorers for us like Hooper, Stokes, Griffiths all had theirs around the 0.5 mark while poorer signings like Pukki, Miku et al. tended to be around the 0.2 mark or less albeit in more difficult leagues.

It'd be unfair to judge him on the basis of his games at Stoke where he only played a handful of games and mostly as a sub (and where he was disliked by the manager). They'll also want rid because in their view he's clearly never going to make it there in the short-term when up against guys like Aguero and Dzeko.

He only remembered he had it in the last hours of the transfer market.
