Aw, waking up to here this * completely puts a dampener on the end of that transfer window. Hopefully it gets done and we can have him, Scepovic and Griffiths tearing it apart up top.

It just screams out that we had no plan B mate. None whatsoever. A whole summer of looking at targets, and we had Scepovic. That is what I'm taking from this.

Man city will probably just release him from his contract anyway. I really * hope this goes through, got a feeling he would be a magnificent signing for us.

If Guidetti manages to get himself released, he will end up somewhere else......not at Celtic.

I would be surprised if his wage demands were the problem. Surely that would have been sorted before he travelled up to Glasgow, i don't think he would have travelled all that way without knowing what to expect.

I am of the thinking that instead of a loan deal we tried to sign him permanently but John couldn't get Man City to release him from his contract in time. Hopefully that will be sorted our sooner rather than later and we'll still see him in the Hoops.

Why would they? He´s worth money and city has FFP to think about. IM still hoping the loan deal can go through.

They're trying to punt him on loan for a year at which point he's out of contract, he's essentially already a free agent if he goes on loan for a year as why would someone pay a fee for a player they cant have until he's out of contract anyway!

Paying his wages (although I doubt it's noticed much at Man City) for an extra year or let him go for nothing.

He was at CP - would have thought it was a done deal.

Last year of contract and they're actively seeking to punt him. As it stands he'll sit taking wages for a year in the reserves then get offloaded on a Bosman or released as a free agent. If they buy out his contract and release him they stand to save money should Guidetti agree to less than 100% of his salary from now until his contract expires.

If they're lucky they'll get a bid in January or now from a club who still has an open window but knowing that City want rid and that the guy wants away, it'll be very modest (possibly less than releasing him from his contract) and will make negligible difference to FFP on the grand scheme of things.

I've honestly never heard of him.

Looking at his record, unless you watched Feyenoord in the 2011/12 season, he's been pretty anonymous.

Just five appearances for Burnley, six for Stoke and 1 appearance for Man City in the league cup.

Not really that high profile that his name would jump into most people's heads.

I never said anything of the sort.

I've no idea who he is and I've never seen him play. I think we are all aware that the majority of the players we sign are going to be low profile players.

My point was merely that everyone was complaining that we were just signing loan players and not buying.

I never said anything about knowing anything about him.

He's had a big reputation for years now mate, just needs to fulfill that potential now.
