Can't see extension being rejected, Utd,Hull and Arsenal all used the option last night. If deal goes through is it loan or permanent? Or same as last night, season long loan.

I will be disappointed if we haven't got the deal done in time. This is always the risk with deadline day deals.

Read more online, apparently he is back down in Manchester after the paperwork failed to reach the SFA on time.

    Pretty much dead then?

    I'm a bit confused here.

There had been loads of bashing that the board have only signed players on loan.

Now there is more bashing as they didn't sign some other unheard of player on loan?

Nott getting this player on loan has overshadowed the fact we've paid £2.3m for another player.

Suddenly loan guys are more important than paying money?

On the flip side of that argument, the guy we did sign was being told to * off, and called all sorts on here yesterday by the majority. He also didn't really want to come here if we are being honest about it.

Guidetti is not unknown either by the way.

If the deals has fallen through as we left it too late then the blame is solely that of Lawwell. If Man City dragged their heals then not much we can do.

To be fair mate, I would say leaving it until the final few hours of transfer deadline day was leaving it too late anyway. We didn't just know yesterday all of a sudden that we needed a striker.

Totally agree. We should be doing our business earlier in the window paticularly for arguably the most important position on the park.

We're a bit short of strikers then if this has stalled.

If we don't get him I can see us going for a freebie, anyone got a list?

If he had other offers and he has opted for us that's a good sign.

If we fail with the appeal hopefully Man City will release him and we can snap him up, the alternative is we get him on a pre-contract in Jan.

Hopefully Henrik has had a word in his ear and he fancies having a shot at being a legend.

Fingers x'd all is not lost.

Don't think we'll need any other striker regardless of this deal. Stokes, Scepovic and Griffiths should be plenty.

Haven't read all the posts but ones I've noted say around £30k pw ? If anywhere near figure on day Commons signs till 2017 with reduction in wages of (quoted on here) £4k pw, I won't lose sleep over John Guidetti not coming. Do we actually need a £30k pw striker with what we now have? Will stick with Scepovic up front and watch his goal tally rise.

But we dont have huge buying power so we often need to wait til deadline day for players to become available
