I was saying what if Messi was like that, I never said he was, Messi has spat at a player, and kicked a ball into a fans face, thats probably the worst he has done, but rejecting a player on the basis that he has been in trouble before is ridiculous.

I agree that they are close to the same quality but by saying Kayal is twice the player Barton is imo wrong. I know Liverpool were after Kayal, but Barton is being chased by Arsenal, Spurs, a number of other Premier League teams, PSG and Malaga, Barton was named Newcastle's POTY last year, Barton is better than Kayal.

6 premier league teams are interested in Barton, Man U might be one, but he played for Man City so that would be a reason against why they wouldn't want him, anyway it besides the point Barton is a class player IMO, and I dont get why people wouldn't take him because of his immaturity when he was younger, as I said everyone have things they regret doing, and he has seemed to turned a new leaf, and has kept out of trouble since his stint in the jail, people do change

I very much doubt we would get him but I think he is a quality player and better than anyone we have just now.

couldnt give a * if he signs or not. He is a good player yes, but a *. We already have plenty good players in that position so unless someone is offloaded then we wont be in for him i dont think, but as i say i dont give a * all i want is a top quality keeper signed fast a top quality striker would be great too but we need to focus on getting a great keeper in and stop * around.

Its been in the papers for months that united and liverpool expressed interest in him , when the contract talks stalled for a bit. Same as izaguirre, who actually came out and said united were after him , but he chose to remain at celtic for the time been .

So why didnt izaguirre go to united ?

Ever since Joey Barton's name has been linked with Celtic, most of our fan's seem to have slaughtered the idea of a move to Paradise for reasons which have nothing to do with our Club. What sort of players do we even want at our club?

Joey Barton is a top footballer with experience and skill, that should be the only thing taken into account here. Fair enough, he has had his fair share of controversy's off the Park, but for flucks sake - he is only human like the rest of us and is entitled to make his mistakes. He is REAL, and thats what I like about him, hes not one of these media-talked up, plastic footballers who can offer nothing only a name like Freddie Ljungberg was. He is a product of the Working class and could relate heavily to much of the Celtic fanbase if given the chance.

Joey Barton can offer us the experience, the name, the skill and the silverware.

Regardless of other opinions from within the Celtic camp, I would personally LOVE to see Joey Barton line out for the Hoops!

 

I wouldn't get rid of Ki to get Barton on a loan, it would be different if we were signing him.
